I went to this cafe today. I had never met such rude owner at the cafe before. He told me that this is not a hospital and is a business( Because I was sitting there for a while without ordering). He could have just told me hey its our policy that if you sit at our cafe, its mandatory to order. But his words felt so disrespectful that even the atmosphere could not make up for it. You can find better and friendlier owners at other places. I would not come back here only because of that. I think he is owner’s son but a truly disrespectful person from the way he spoke.
( Edit: I was escorted out, he came up to me saying “ it’s time to leave”. When I asked the reason, he said” you know why”. I said “ is it because of the review?” He said yes and something else also. I could not understand why I am being asked to leave. Whatever is being mentioned below by the owners is not true. I wrote the review before speaking to him about the fact that he was rude. He apologised and offered a cookie to make up for it. He then saw my review and escorted me out without giving a valid reason. I did try telling him that it was written before but he kept on insisting me to leave. This is just shocking.
Edit: I called them to ask why did they write what they wrote below and an explanation for why I was asked to leave. They hung up. I totally don’t see myself as a profane person for asking for a decent explanation for their...
Read moreThis desert & coffee bakery opened just last week in a location that was vacant for a few years. Upon seeing it, I got curious and took the time to check it out.
This review will cover only the Basque cheesecake and coffee that I tried on this first, accidental visit.
This is a mom & son shop, serving home made pastries, along with coffee supplied by Caffè Monte, a local coffee roaster.
The shop presents itself as a European living room, with wooden floors, formal-ish wooden tables and traditional looking upholstered chairs. There is a noticeable number of electrical outlets along the walls, presumably for customers with laptop or cell phones to charge. It is accessible from the street, only a few steps up from the sidewalk level.
I tried the Basque cheesecake, which is baked, as opposed to set with gelatin. Baked cheesecake is a rare find, in this town.
The one prepared by Rocky Desert Market was exactly as I hoped it would be, with the right texture and just enough sugar to bring out the cream cheese taste without overpowering it. Combined with a good cup of coffee, it's a slice of goodness.
Upon exiting, we were told to come back for the cookies. I am sure they are equally good, but for me at least, the cheesecake & coffee is what I would come back for.
Good luck, Rocky...
Read moreI recently visited this delightful dessert cafe, and I was truly charmed by its unique setup. The bright and uplifting theme creates an inviting atmosphere that's perfect for indulging in sweet treats. The decor features a whimsical array of cuddle bears and bear ornaments, adding a playful touch that complements the overall vibe.
The menu offers an impressive selection of desserts, and we decided to try the banana pudding, Ferrero cookie, and chocolate Basque cake. Each dessert was a treat for the senses! The banana pudding was creamy and delicious, while the Ferrero cookie had that perfect balance of chocolate and hazelnut. The chocolate Basque cake was rich and decadent, making it a must-try for chocolate lovers.
To wash it all down, we paired our desserts with a hazelnut latte, which was the perfect complement to the sweet flavors. Overall, our experience was magnifique! I can't wait to return and explore more of their offerings. Highly recommend this cafe for anyone looking for a cozy spot to satisfy their...
