Wave Coffee in Calgary was such a disappointment. The only reason Iâm leaving a review this harsh is because the bad customer service was on top of food and coffee that were already below average.
I tried the seasonal pumpkin spice latte and it was just okay. Not terrible, but not something Iâd ever go back for. Itâs more expensive than other places, comes in a smaller size, and honestly doesnât taste as good. I can get a better drink somewhere else for less money, so why would I come back here?
The food wasnât much better. We got a sandwich and a croissant. The croissant had a huge air pocket in the middle and was basically hollow. The sandwich was fine, but not something youâd actually enjoy eating. It just fills you up so you arenât hungry, not because it tastes good.
But what really made this a one-star review was the customer service. My girlfriend ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which is literally just coffee with sweetened condensed milk. The girl working was by herself and clearly overwhelmed while another employee seemed to be in the back on their phone. She didnât start making our drinks until about five minutes later and then asked if the Vietnamese coffee was hot or iced. We said iced (it only comes iced) and she started making a hot one anyway. We had to correct her again. Even after verifying the order three times, we still ended up with the wrong drink. Instead of a Vietnamese iced coffee, we got a vanilla iced coffee with regular milk. I honestly donât know how that confusion even happened because we were really clear about what we wanted.
All of this, two drinks, a sandwich, and a croissant came to almost $30. It took forever to get our order, thereâs a good chance itâll be wrong, and the food just isnât good enough to justify the price or the wait. There are way better coffee shops around. I definitely wouldnât recommend...
Read moreThe staff is very nice and friendly. However, the food/drinks are overpriced for the quality you receive. This is in my office building so its unfortunate that the food is not good. The first time I went I got a cheese bagel which was terribly hard, the second time I went I had a Mediterranean wrap that was dripping with grease, and the third time I went I found two wood shavings in my sausage roll... Which I initially ate and pulled out of my mouth. I brought it to the staffs attention because it was mixed into the batter and I thought there could be some in other sausage rolls on display. The young woman working there was very apologetic and requested my contact information so that her manager could follow up but I never heard anything back. Overall...
Read moreEverything is made in Canada! We don't usually visit downtown much but since it was close to the central library we thought we'd pop in with our 3 and 5 year old. I got a mocha ice coffee, my husband got a coffee black and we got a strawberry smoothie for our kids. I liked the taste of my mocha ice coffee. It's a stronger taste. If you compare it to Tim Hortons that has a sweeter taste, this has a more coffee taste. My husband enjoyed his coffee and the kids cleared their smoothie. No complaints there :) There's comfy seating inside to sit and relax. It was nice to try a new coffee place from the usual. Staff were friendly to us and kids đ. We'll be back next time...
