Gong cha — Restaurant in Coquitlam

Tried this GongCha location several times with hopes that I would really like it since their prices are relatively higher than the other 4 bubble tea shops in the area. But unfortunately it was either the pearls were too hard which made me think that they weren't fresh, or the customer service was horrible (eg. forgot to add milk foam on drinks that had them, slow customer service, or ignorance to rewards or specials going on for GongCha). One particular incident that left a horrible taste in my mouth was that I received a GongCha reward for a Buy1 get 1 Free (selected drinks) on their reward app and so I went into the store asking if they could confirm what drinks was this available towards. Both workers working on that Sunday afternoon told me they had no idea and refused to honour it. I asked if they could attempt to apply it to any 2 drinks I chose to test out whether it would apply at all and they refused, saying that it would apply regardless. They told me they weren't comfortable allowing me to redeem it when they weren't sure what the drinks were and told me to return another day. I was so surprised that they were telling me to come back another day that I decided to just leave since there was a big line forming behind me and not return to this location. Multiple times during our visits here we noticed that workers were working very inefficiently without any teamwork. It gives off a very confused vibe with everything and there doesn't seem to be much training. Drinks are really really subpar despite paying $6+. I suggest you take your money elsewhere as there is literally 4-5 other bubble tea stores within 1-2 blocks radius...

UPDATE received a response from owner asking for time/date of visit but no email to send to. Contacted customer service via website... it’s now 04/28/2024 and still no reply back. Just awful.

I can't comment on the dine in experience or food. I used to come here quite often since it's right by coq ctr and near my place.

I came here for the gingerbread bottle that i've been seeing on social media. The dude at the cash couldn't even be bothered to help customers. He was too busy focussing on his friends that came into the store while he was helping other customers infront of me. Not only was my drink written wrong (since he was distracted), he forgot to make it. My husband's drink was made but he skipped mine and went straight to making his friends orders. The other girl that was working asked if he had made my drink yet (as it came before his friends) and he was like "no..." so she ended up making it. She was nice. And I honestly felt bad she had to take over since she looked quite busy.

I get that they are prob kids from HS that are being hired to work there, but come on... at least do your job before socializing with your friends. You have other paying customers to take care of. It wasn't even that busy. Had he made the effort to do his job properly... he still would have had time to socialize with his friends after when there were...

Nice clean and open location, accessible by wheelchairs with lots of seating. It features a comfortable assortment of tables and a spacious lounge if coming with friends, with a couch and T.V. along with free Wi-Fi and bathroom. Very nice and welcoming atmosphere with warm lighting and nice decor to make it feel very homely.

Drinks and food reasonably priced, spending ~$10-20 depending on how much you order, with a Loyalty Rewards program via phone app on Apple Store and Google Play.

When I visited, I got a large of their signature Milk Green Tea Warm with pearls. Super delicious and would recommend. The warm green tea mixing with the cool foam was a great taste. Lots of topping options and cold/warm drinks, packaged in recyclable cups and free provided utensils like straws. Will definitely visit again!
