Absolutely not impressed, arrived at 5:40PM, ordered some slices on the counter, was told by the employee they'd been sitting out on the counter at room temperature for around 40 minutes (so since 5PM), when I left at 7:10PM, the same pizza was still there at room temperature for over two hours, which is against Canadian food safety regulations. Brought it up to the manager was told this is how they'd been doing things, which definitely needs to change. Food safety standards NEED to be followed.
Edited to include response to owner's comment:
That is not what I observed, when I got there the pizza was already cold so clearly they'd been sitting out for some time already and I was told by staff there everything always sells within an hour which is again, not true. I witnessed the pizza sitting out for over an hour and a half (plus the 40 minutes stated by staff). So if anything by saying you always sell it within an hour the staff was trying to give out misinformation to make you guys appear better, not worse. I've confirmed with the manager (and have a recorded video) that this is how you've been doing things to just let pizza sit out till they sell out (which could take who knows how long). If the manager there didn't mention you throw out stuff that's been sitting for over two hours when I brought it up to him, I highly doubt you do. Again you, just like the staff there need to take responsibility, change the way you do things to make sure you're following food safety regulations, not making stuff up to try to fool people. Otherwise you should get your business license revoked. If I notice this again at this location I will be documenting, collecting evidence and be reporting it to health authorities, it is UNACCEPTABLE to have an establishment in Coquitlam selling food that could make people sick.
Lastly, letting cooked pizza sit out on a counter is never safe practice, people are not robots, even if they were switched after the two hour mark (which they're not) when things get busy, it's easy to forget. One mess up could mean serious sickness. Cooked pizza slices should either be kept in a warmer or in the fridge and reheated to the appropriate temperature when served. The fact you're even trying to defend this practice shows how much you care about food safety in general, which is not...
Read moreI have been getting pitza from La Ruota couple times, the taste of pitza is ok pretty average However the thing really bother and annoying is the way they managing the business. Unfortunetly everytime they get busy the manager and employee get confuse and messed up. One time they sent a wrong order to us after like an hour and the second time we decided to pick the order from store and they were busy and forget to make one our pitza and eventully one of the employee gave me a cold pitza and he lied to me becuse he claimed it is fresh one. Additionally , today i order 2 large pitza and unfortunetly once i did the order after 20min they called me we donot have one of your order on the other hand they cooked one of them so one pitza was ready the other one was on hold becuz they didnot have it so we decided to change the order which was cheaper(the price diffrence didnot refund), as a result we end up with one fresh pitza and one unfresh one becuz they are not professional enough to understand once someone order 2 large , the person expect to get both fresh and they need to cook at the same time and not put the pitza in warmer for 35 min while the other one cooking in the oven. Additionally , they cannot even cook and making pitza with the always same quality for example we got pitza Called Carne Piccante and that pitza every time came with diffrent quality so the pitza cook cannot understand how to make the same recipe everytime. Hopefully the manager and business owner read this review and consider it as tip to improve themselves and stop offering a 1$ coke to the customer who spending 50$ on pitza as promotion. Iam not gonna get pitza from this store again because i expect the decent quality from this prices pitza. I attached the photo of the last Carne picante that i recived and it is not even close to human food. Oneside had parsly the other side hadnot , oneside had a peper the other side nothing and they had a great excuse once i complaint , "They told me , We were very busy" . Iam wondering if you cannot keep up once you are busy just close the store or put limitation on your daily order. This is...
Read moreEdit: They responded to my review, which is great. They asked me to send them my number, which I did. I emailed them twice but didn't hear back, either via email or phone.
The pizza itself was very good. It tasted great. It was, however, cold. The pizza was consumed within 5 minutes of me picking it up. Why was it cold then? Well, When I ordered the pizza for pick-up online I chose an option to be notified of the progress of the pizza (in their restaurant they have a screen that customers can see which states what stage of readiness the pizza is in) and gave my phone number and email. When I got my order confirmation it did not have an estimated pickup time. Didn't think that that would be an issue as I would receive notifications. After half an hour of waiting I decided just to go down there as I had not received any notification of the progress. When I walked in I saw that they had processed 20 other orders passed mine. My pizza was finished and had been sitting there for an unknown period of time. When I enquired about the pizza I was told that "sorry, we don't give notifications when it's busy." Ok, thanks, but that doesn't warm up my cold pizza. If a company offers a service, I expect them to stand by it. If the order had said "receive notifications unless it's peak business hours" then whatever. I wouldn't have expected it. It did, however, tell me that I would be notified, thereby breaking the word of the company. If a company cannot stand by what they say they do it breaks trust with the customer.
I ordered from them a previous time and had the opposite experience. I received a notification saying that my pizza was almost done and then that it was done. When I arrived I waited around for 15 minutes as they made and cooked my pizza.
Both situations annoying. The staff didn't do anything about either screw-up. If I am to buy pizza that is more on the expensive side, I expect the service to equal to the cost of the food. It was not on either occasions. I do not feel compelled to give them...
