Steve’s Poké Bar — Restaurant in Coquitlam

Got there around 6, walked in with my partner and my order was taken promptly. Was a little confused that the worker took my order but not my partners (we walked in holding hands), but whatever.

After my order, the worker proceeded to make two bowls for an uber eats order. While my partner was waiting for her bowl, the worker accepted a mobile order for two more bowls (after my partner was already waiting at the front of the queue) and proceeded to make the bowls for that mobile order.

At this point, we had already been waiting for 15-20 minutes.

After the worker finished their orders, we were informed that they were out of rice and would not be able to make my partner's bowl.

I understand that it was an hour to closing, and that there was only one worker working so the wait and rice running out was understandable, just annoying that we had not been informed ahead of time that they would run out of rice.

Also thought that my partner's order should've been made before the final mobile order since we had been waiting already for 15 minutes at that point.

Afterwards, when I was halfway through eating my bowl I noticed a weird texture in my mouth and spat out a piece of blue rubber, looks like some sort of piece of rubber band. (pictured on the fork)

I had a fantastic experience at Steve's Poke, and I wanted to share it with everyone. The 50% off promotion they had going on is what initially caught my attention, and it did not disappoint.

I was drawn in by the amazing deal they were offering, and honestly, I hope they bring it back because it's a great reason to keep coming back. Who doesn't love a good discount on delicious food?

Now, let me talk about my favorite part - the Ono Tuna. It was absolutely amazing. The freshness and flavor were on point, and it took my poke bowl to a whole new level. I'm really hoping they bring it back soon because I can't get enough of it.

The staff at Steve's Poke were super friendly, and they made my visit even better. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and the quality of their ingredients was outstanding.

I'm looking forward to my next visit and crossing my fingers for another awesome promotion and the return of the Ono Tuna. Thanks, Steve's Poke, for a fantastic dining...

Honest Review:

I've had my fair share of poke bowls across the city, and have been wanting to try Steve's Poke Bar for awhile now. I recently had a chance to taste their bowls on two separate occasions. Disappointingly, their bowls are mediocre at best. They only offer one size bowl, which in most cases, will leave you feeling hungry. The toppings are scarcely scattered, although seemingly fresh. Rice was dry and a little hard. I can't comment on the freshness of the fish protein, as I've only had tofu, and with that they only offer five pieces. Sauce flavors are nothing spectacular, and again, on the skimpier side. Both times I did not feel I had the value for my money, and more importantly, was left still hungry! 3 stars given for clean atmosphere and nice serving staff. I suggest they revamp their menu and create a new business plan. As of now I do not see the passion or quality of care...
