i didn't have high expectations and was impressed with the size and quality of ingredients. had texas something burger only - i was uncomfortably full after. i liked that they wrapped it in half inside the box so you can hold it. i like the little things like how crispy and flavorful the onion rings inside my burger were. i like the size and flavor of the bacon. the cheese was melted but tasted ok. the vegetables were fresh and clean inside the burger. yum. expensive, about $7, but very satisfied. i wish it was on my way to work for those desperate times i need a burger. the location has high visibility but inconvenient for me.
Edited: 4 days ago I had the El Diablo Thickburger. Hands down the best burger I've ever had in my life!! The 1/3 lb angus beef pattie comes all the way to the edge of the very uniquely tasty, perfect fresh bun, the entire combination of bacon, cheese, habanero sauce, jalepeno poppers was amazing. I thought about this meal for 4 days after I had it... amazing. I would give it 5 stars if not for the odd window service. But I do give them credit for telling me to order this burger.
Edited Feb 25 2021: came back after moving out of Edmonton a few years ago. Ordered the El Diablo Thickburger and was stunned at what I received. It was this ugly thing that looked and tasted nothing like the burger I used to rave to everyone about. The McDonald's double quarter pounder I had a few days ago looked better. How far downhill do you have to go to be compared to McDonald's in the first place. If I hadn't arrived home already I would have taken it straight back and asked for my $16 back. The poutine had cheese curds but the gravy was too salty. I will not be going back to this...
Read moreThis place is horrible, especially the Manager named Joven, my friends and I went for a dinner and when my other friend ordered an Ice cream sandwich, the Manager “Joven” handed over him the Ice cream sandwich wraped in cling wrap, not even pack in a box or some plate atleast. My friend askes the Manager if he can spare some sandwich box, “Jove” glares to my friend answering that the burger box was too big! As I approached the cashier asking for a complimentary plate atleast for my friends Ice cream sandwich, the cashier is about to give me a plastic bowl but then “Joven” yell to the cashier that “Dont give that, it was Expensive!!!” As I over heard “Joven’s” reaction I told him that I will pay for the bowl. He look at as if im fooling him around, charging me for the Bowl of $0.50cents however when I ask for the receipts instead of $0.50cents they rung in the cash register for $0.26cents dipping sauce... As I insist asking for the right receipts of my purchased plastic bowl, “Joven the manager” Argue with me and yelling me in front of the other customer, cursing me on his language. It was very upsetting expirience how we are being treated. With this kind of Manager who is running this fast food he should’ve been in this kind of business. I would fire him on the spot putting the name of Carl’s jr in a bad reputation. Never going to Carl’s jr anymore!!! Specially Stony plain road...
Read moreNormally we always have a good experience at Carl's Jr. Unfortunately tonight was a disappointment. The food was good but the service was well below standard. The staff member at drive thru was very cold in her customer service. We ordered 2 Angus combos. We offered to provide the coupon codes like we normally do but the staff member said no. We gave the coupon and paid at the window. We asked for ketchup and a honey mustard. The staff member said we had to pay 37 cents for the honey mustard and we payed in cash with 35 cents and she asked for the two pennies which aren't used anymore and we advised with cash it rounds down but she wasn't understanding at all. She wandered off and eventually returned after an extended period with the food. She said the ketchup and honey mustard were in the bag. We drove out of the drive thru. We checked the bag and the ketchup and honey mustard were not there. We drove back to the drive thru and advised her that she forgot and instead of owning her mistake she said we forgot. Honestly that's not how you win over customers. We enjoy Carl's Jr and the owners of this location and the Calgary Trail/Gateway location usually have exceptional employees. I hope this is not considered acceptable behavior...
