Recently I used the online feedback option on my receipt to point out that the men's washroom in the upstairs lounge was disgusting and that I would not recommend the place to others because of that. Three weeks later, thinking that the matter would be rectified, I visited again and found that the washroom still reeked of vomit, masked by some kind of Febreze-like product. This noxious odour has persisted for MONTHS! When I last visited a few days ago I was literally gagging while in the washroom.
The Garneau Pub used to have the dubious honour of having the most offensive urinal in Old Strathcona. "Hold my beer", said BP on Whyte. We can outdo that!
I don't blame the cleaning staff at all. From what I have been told someone threw up in the toilet tank months ago. And that is not coming out without replacing the porcelain.
It is unfortunate that the receipt reviews are not taken seriously, and so I hesitantly edited this review hopefully to get some attention to the matter. My initial review, below, still stands, as the staff, service, and food are great.
And it is not just my complaint: staff and patrons have also voiced their concerns about this, but it has fallen on deaf ears.
Original review (formerly five stars):
This is my favourite BP in the city. Like many of the spots in Old Strathcona it has a unique setup, versus the usual chain layout, especially in the lounge. The staff are always friendly and the quality of the food is high. The downstairs Party Room is a great choice for a private...
Read moreAvoid this location unless you want long wait and very rude service. Arrived there for lunch and the restaurant was empty except for one other table....after 35 minutes of waiting for food we inquired about the status. The waitresses' response, in a rude tone, was "There were a lot of orders ahead of you. Its a restaurant these things happen!" Yes they do happen, but common sense dictates that you should let people know this before they order or at least after a long wait let them know the status and at least try to sound apologetic.... But wait it gets better...clearly offended that we questioned her and stated that it would have been nice to know before we sat down she comes back and slams a pitcher of water down on our table...got up and walked out and she had the nerve to ask if we wanted it to go.
Will never return and will do my best to spread the word of the poor service that this location provided.
Avoid at all costs and would give zero if able to.

That took you what 3-4 seconds to copy and paste? I just told you my experience…but guess what also takes a few seconds? Me telling my coworkers, friends, and family. That waitress is costing...
Read moreJust a little background information for why I’m leaving a review like this; I am a waitress at the Boston pizza in my town. Basically, I went out with a table of 25 people, and the service was diabolical. Everyone got drinks that are not difficult drink to make, Bellinis, and it took 40 minutes for everyone to get their drink and 3 of them were still forgotten. At that point too, 1/3 of the group had food and no drinks and the rest of us had nothing but the napkins in front of us. In the end it took an hour and half for food, that I know should have only taken 30-40 minutes to make. As well when the food came out my salad was drenched in caesar and they gave me the piece of the lettuce that gets tossed out ( I left a picture to show). Then the waitress had the audacity to throw an 18% gratuity tip on my bill, for service I would not give to the worst table ever. The waitress never spoke to us except for getting our orders and then asking us for money (tips) she didn’t deserve. Overall I wish I could give this experience a 0/5 stars. Never go to this BP there are so many better places to on Whyte and all over Edmonton for...
