First Sight Coffee & Bar — Restaurant in Halifax

I normally love this place however, today April 10. Who ever was working there around 5;30PM had a huge power trip. My husband and I have always gone there for drinks or coffee, always supporting local. And this time my husband did not have is ID. But we have never been asked before because again, we have been regular loyal customers the past year... We were asking this guy nicely too if we order our alcohol beverage at the bar or at the counter because who ever is working that day always has a different answer. I had my ID and my husband said "she'll just have a drink then and I'll have coffee." And he rejected it. He didn't even look at my ID. Like so how is it ang different from id we go to the keg or something and I'm ordering drinks and he's ordering pop? Never been upset of First Sight. Such a power trip and we were nothing but nice.

It's our last week in Halifax too before we move back west after 3 years of living here, first sight is always the place to go for students. But I guess he didn't want any more people to serve. Idk but pathetic.

We instead enjoyed a drink and coffee at our other favourite place Bulwark....

I am a regular at this cafe, and I always come in to study and get work done. However I was there with my girlfriend today and we purchased from them intending to sit down and study, but I was told to leave because I had outside food. This is the only time I have ever had any other food with me as I often buy their rather overpriced, but still good food. Even though we had bought from them, I was told to leave, so the cafe has unfortunately lost a regular customer. The blond woman working at 8:00pm on 2025-03-07 is the one that did this; the rest of the staff are always great and friendly. I strongly urge anyone reading this not to go here as the food is far too expensive (19 CAD for a croissant), and they have now lost my business....

Visited this place on a Sunday evening, had a bad experience. We just ordered two Old Fashioneds, the server forgot our order for almost 20 mins. Came back and didn't know how to make the drink. The server asked us which alcohol to add to the drink, did not inform us about missing some ingredients for the drink, it just had whiskey, brown sugar, and ice. It tasted horrible. We were charged $10 extra per drink for the "premium alcohol" and weren't informed of this at the time of ordering. The service was really slow for an empty place, the drinks were horrible with exorbitant prices. Never...
