Yesterday I had my first Lazeez and I was recommended by many people that this was the best place ever. I ordered the chicken half and half (rice and fries) and I was kinda confused as it didnt come with the traditional salad so I asked the person working there and he confused me even more. Turns out I just pay an extra $1 for the chicken shawarma and I get a salad too. Overall my food was good in the first 1-2 bites as the fries were freshly fried and served. But the chicken was cold and DRY! they pre cut the chicken but the thing is, it is not even busy so why prep so much chicken when its just in the container cold? I've been to so many places where they instantly cut the chicken off the shawarma so this was a big red flag for me. After the first two bites I felt a disgusting feeling I didnt want another bite out of this because it just felt so fatty and oily, I was basically drinking table cream at this point. The rice was not seasoned properly and the sauce was basically fat. Comparing the sauce to other restaurants this was definitely not garlic sauce... this was straight fat and cream. I had the worse stomach ache ever and I didn't even finish my food because i was shivering of how oily and fat this food was. I know Lazeez isn't supposed to be a 'healthy' spot, but being a fan of shawarma and eating out a lot, this was not a good spot. I was so disappointed because my expectations were super high as it looks appetizing but I was disappointed so much I almost cried. I was in Hamilton and I thought of giving a try with my colleagues to this place. We went there and and we were shocked to see only one staff member working. So we had to wait to order till the time he got free from preparing an existing order.
Then we ordered and we paid in cash. He didn't give us reciept. I asked why? He said we don't do entry into the system for cash orders. :D Nice way of not showing any income to Lazeez and saving royalty.
Then we waited for 15 minutes and finally our order came for Chicken on Sticks, Chicken on Rice and Wrap.
Literally, it was stinking and the chicken was so bad. It was like rubber and smelling like a rotten fish. This Lazeez branch which is near to a renowned University has a crowd in 1000's but it is soon going to get down the reputation of other branches too since people make a brand reputation when they have a bad encounter.
Finally, I got into a friendly chat with the employee to know what actually the issue is. He said that the owner is mentally not well and asks us to put less chicken, less sauce and uses cheaper cooking products. I was sad to hear this side of story. He even told that it is good you didn't tip me since he keeps all the tip money with him and doesn't pay any employee. The worst part what I heard was that he keeps the donation money too :D. They have kept a box for donations and people put money in charity for a good cause but he takes that too
This place is a S.C.A.M. Lazeez Shawarma should take the franchise back...

While I appreciate the effort that goes into providing a dining experience, I feel compelled to express my disappointment with the quality of the food and overall service I received.
During my visit on 8th August 2023 , I ordered 3 showema roll and baklawa both of which unfortunately did not meet my expectations. The showema Tate and freshness issue with the dish, such as overcooked, there was. Not marinated with paprika powder underseasoned, etc. affected the overall enjoyment of the meal.
