Decided to go for wing night with friends visiting from out of town (7 people total) and was extremely underwhelming and disappointing. Basic things had to be asked for multiple times and took a long time even though the place wasn't anywhere near full. Food was average and there were multiple issues almost every step of the way. First, simple drink order of a couple alcoholic beverages and waters for the table took almost 15 minutes and we didn't even get the water so we had to ask again. For the food, pickled eggs were ordered as an appetizer for a few people and they were good. However, no salt and pepper on the tables (a pretty basic thing) so we had to ask for that. One person asked the server for hot sauce and she said she would grab some. We never did get that hot sauce. Was wing night so everyone ordered 1-2 orders of wings (with dips) and a couple people ordered poutines to share... Wings were honestly average at best and came with multiple problems. We had boneless wings ordered that came out as traditional bone in. None of them came with the dips that were ordered and we had to ask 4 times to get the dips. Some of the flavors also didn't seem right (pineapple sweet chili thai was dark brown and tasted like teriyaki). There were 7 of us and we were only given cutlery for 4 people so we had to ask and (again) wait for cutlery after the food came out so some people had to sit and wait to eat. Were told they would re-do the boneless wings ASAP and get them out. We had to ask multiple times for them and didn't actually get them until we were done eating and ready to leave. BBQ pulled pork poutine was good, but the traditional was not. Came out last and must have been sitting around for a while since it was warm at best...
Read moreCame here a week ago on the 29th. Food and overall atmosphere were pretty chill and we were sat quickly. Server took drink orders from two of us while the rest of the party needed a few minutes to look at the menu. Server never returned to take our order and the very friendly bartender came over and asked if the rest of our order had been taken. He took our order and thankfully the drinks came out quickly.
We put our food order in and waited what seemed to be a long time but we were willing to give benefit of the doubt because it was a wing night. Our food came out wrong (we ate it anyways) and my friend’s food didn’t come out at all. We couldn’t flag down our server so we had to get up and find her and she told us the kitchen screwed up and they were making a new one. My friend waited a further 20+ minutes for her remake by which time everyone else was done eating. We’d have been absolutely fine waiting if any of this had been communicated to us (we all work food service - we understand), if it had been taken off the bill, or even just a simple “sorry for the wait” had been offered but it seemed like our server was more interested in chatting with their friends at the table directly next to us. We had wanted to order more drinks as well but we never got a check back after the food was dropped off (by someone else). Food was tasty and reasonably priced. The bartender and host were both nice though so hopefully it was just an off night but with so many other local places in the area I’d probably just try...
Read moreFirst time ordering from Leopold's and would skip in the future. I'll start with the good. The atmosphere was really unique and the staff were friendly. I ordered online and found the process easy with many options available to personalize my order preferences.
Now for the bad. Picking up my order was a tad chaotic. I spoke with 4 different staff members that I was here for a pick up order and after 7-10 minutes of waiting past my estimated pickup time I finally received my meal. The food was not great. I ordered chicken tenders and fries plus some churros. The chicken was the only think I can't complain about and was decent. I paid an extra $3 to upgrade my fries to curly fries and got a small fistfull of curly fries in the box... it was not worth the money. The box the food came in was huge but only 1/3 of it was actually filled with food. Now the churros were terrible. Overcooked to perfection, I couldn't get through half of them before tossing them in the garbage. There were a lot of them which is a plus, however, if you have every eaten a overcooked mini-doughnut... it was exactly like that... dry and unpleasant.
In summary the service was chaotic, the quantity of food was not worth the money for the entree, and was overcooked.
Wouldn't recommend this...
