UPDATE 2 (sadly): I see that you have turned to diving into people’s past reviews to justify your point rather than taking a bit of accountability which is sad. I didn’t know you were at that restaurant at the same time to feel like you can comment on it and give your opinion. I hope you enjoyed your Hawaii trip. There are many establishments that have self serve options and there are many others with the common sense to talk to their customers with respect. Anyhow, your replies speak for themselves and show your establishment’s true values. Have a good day sir with a great sense of humour🫡
UPDATE: This reply I got shows that the apology we received right there was not sincere at all. I don’t understand how it is a problem that I picked up the cookie that I will eat without touching anything else and how it is a reason to throw everything away. The stand was right in front of us in an accessible manner. They were not being displayed behind the counter. If we were made aware of this fact at the time we were there, we could consider purchasing them as they were delicious like I said, instead of wasting them. Also, this means that you should be wearing gloves for the food you put on my plate which I didn’t see you were doing. We’ve been to enough cafes and we are well aware of restaurant manners which is not your business to comment at all, it is very condescending. Please refer to the review you received a week ago. The reviewer is most likely talking about the same person.
My boyfriend and I visited this place today around 9:30am. We ordered a coffee, a croissant and a raspberry cookie which was really delicious. However, we were yelled at in a really rude manner by one of the baristas when we grabbed the cookie ourselves from the glass display stand right in front of us. There was no instructions saying we couldn’t once purchased. We were dumbfounded because it felt like we were being scolded after paying and tipping before the service. An unnecessary scene was created that ruined the atmosphere for us.
Later on, the other employee who we assume was the shift manager came and nicely apologized and explained to us why we couldn’t grab it ourselves which was understandable. We just wish the attitude was different and more friendly in the first place especially when we heard from the tourist centre that tourism was low this summer in...
Read moreI must address several points you made in the reply to my partner’s review, as they seem unprofessional, dismissive, and condescending of our concerns.
Firstly, we had no prior knowledge of any policy prohibiting us from picking up a cookie ourselves, especially since the display stand was directly accessible. Clear signage would have prevented this misunderstanding and avoided the discomfort we experienced.
Additionally, your comment about our supposed lack of knowledge regarding food cleanliness is not only condescending but misplaced. We are accustomed to maintaining proper etiquette in dining establishments. However, we did not see any indication that your staff were wearing gloves while handling food, which is a standard hygiene practice. Had we been informed about the proper procedure, we would have complied.
Moreover, the approach of yelling at customers is neither professional nor effective communication. Such a response, as well as the tone of your reply, does not foster a positive atmosphere and fails to address our concerns constructively. Especially for something as small as grabbing a cookie — which was all paid for before.
My partner’s initial review was diplomatic and she mentioned how the manager was nice to us in her apology and explanation, so it is disappointing that rather than showing empathy and understanding, your response was defensive and implied fault on our part. Effective communication and professionalism would have been more appropriate, especially given the impact this incident had on our experience. Thus, the reply to my partner’s review clearly indicates the lack of customer service at Amore Mio which needs to be reviewed.
We value good service and hospitality, and we hope that future interactions with your establishment will be handled with the courtesy and respect that all...

Yes I have come to your shop after my 1st review as my kid insisted and always ordered single cone Gelato and not the character ones after the 1st experience I had with you but never updated the review.
Your Gelatos are good however I believe you can do better!
I got Sicilian kiss but there were almost none bits of pistachio. I don't know what you consider a nut based Gelato but if I am looking for a Gelato with nuts, I would want them to have real nut pieces.
Moreover the size of the scoop is getting smaller compared to others in the market. You have increased the prices too I guess this summer. So overall nothing wowed me to change the rating.
Also recently I was just updating the pic, not the review! Sharing pics was still getting you publicity.
Hope this clarifies your doubt and just for you, I'll edit the review now and bring it a little up and remember, there is never a needless negativity. You should appreciate others suggestions or thoughts. Take the criticism positively!
I ordered Pinocchio for my kid and it was horribly made as you can see. It wasn't even standing, such a poor presentation. Plus, I see 3 scoops in the pic however they gave only 2, less smarties too, why cheat? Also the cone was stale and stinky. How can you serve such food, especially to kids? Very...
