Fuwa Fuwa Dessert Cafe — Restaurant in Mississauga

This is a hard review for me to write. I have been to this location multiple times and have always had a good experience. My wife and I are huge Fuwa Fuwa fans but our trip there on Saturday was nothing short of disappointing.

I want to be clear that my wife and I have had great experiences here in the past. I also don't blame the person working, I think there was a failure at the management level.

We arrived around 10am to have breakfast/brunch and our order was taken promptly. I had noticed it seemed like there was only one person working but I thought maybe there were some others in the back. It turns out that this poor woman was working by herself. She told us it would take a little longer for our orders and 15-20 minutes was the timeline, totally reasonable. Unfortunately that didn't end up being the case. It took about twenty minutes to get my wife's order and then another twenty five minutes to get mine. My drink arrived about 10 minutes after her food arrived. Her's arrived and unfortunately was burned and had way too much matcha powder on it. Mine arrived and was undercooked and inedible. We just got up and left after seeing that the table next to us also received undercooked food.

I felt terrible for the woman working and honestly management should have never let the location open with only one person. Not sure how they were expected to handle in restaurant orders and mobile orders for Door Dash etc...

Either way, I hope to come back in the future but hard to say if I will. What I would really love is the $50+ I spent to not be able to eat...

I saw images and videos online that looked like Fuwa Fuwa would be this amazing souffle pancake with amazing flavours and great ambiance.

When I visited, the square one location had one worker staffed who was nice but seemed to lack training on cleanliness.

They dropped a j cloth on the floor, only to use it later on the tables. Gross. You should sanitize it and grab a new one.

There were clothing items that looked like part of a uniform from there or a neighbouring shop? just left on the table.

There are limited places to sit and then the few available tables were sticky or had clothing on them that weren't from customers.

The menus up front were sticky. The pancakes were not fluffy as pictured nor the sauce as pictured. It would be a $5 purchase not $20.

It is a quiet, tucked away location. It wasnt busy. When not doing a transaction or cooking, the staff should be cleaning and making it welcome not on their phone.

Please revisit cleaning standards with staff and have more workers to make the place inviting, taken care of and the pancakes live up to the fluffy marketing.

When a place is not well kept it makes you feel like eating there is a gamble.

I think management can just reply to this that they have properly trained their staff as I do wish this place to be successful and live up...

This was our first time here. Therefore, we decided to choose the Signature Pancake.

The staff was really helpful. They helped us decide our option to choose and gave really good suggestion.

If you are a fan of Coffee or Tiramisu then we recommend the Tiramisu Pancake as that was also recommended to us. However, not a big fan of either.

Here are the positives and negatives: Positives - really awesome service, well trained staff, follows COVID precautions very diligently, the pancakes are served fresh, LOVE the cream - it's amazing!!!, the extra fruits are amazing - mix of various kinds of fruits - worth $2, the pancakes are super fluffy, they accept order on the phone, very less wait time.

Negatives - although pancakes are served fresh they get cold by the time you reach ur destination, need to work on better packing, the fruits on signature pancake are very limited - highly recommend to get extra fruits - just $2 extra.

Overall - we will recommend to try this place asap!!!

We have already recommended to our friends and will be ordering more soon!!!
