It was my first time trying Second Cup and the experience was not so great. I really wish the server were more understanding and didn’t have an attitude because honestly saying you don’t like the job don’t do it. I did mention the server it was our first time we didn’t know what drink to order so to suggest something. I had friends with me so we ended up ordering iced vanilla latte i guess and a frappe. Now frappe we thought would be sweet neither did the server mention it neither were we aware which is fine and when we tasted there was no taste. It was bland and bitter so I ended up asking the server if she could provide with a syrup on the side as it doesn’t have any taste and we had paid more for the frappe she just didn’t want to do that instead she just gave us sugar packets. Anyhow I still thought we could work our way around it but we didn’t and then I was like we have paid for it and we should at least enjoy what we paid for so I went back and I told her if she could replace the drink with the iced latte as that at least had taste and she was then ready to offer us syrup on side and that made me laugh. And then the other server comes in and we told her the story she didn’t even react she just made us the drink and they just kept it there. We thanked her for it as well but she just decided to show us attitude and leave. I would say do better. At least Tim Hortons have higher standards and they help customer customize the drink and provide something happily whatever is needed. I don’t mean to sound like a complaining customer because I work in food industry as well i know how it is but at least suggest customers better about your menu if it is their first visit. Dont recommend it. The bottom part of the drink had grinds as well not sure if the drink was made from steeped coffee or it was the espresso grinds. So not happy spending the amount...
Read moreUsually a decent place, the drinks are made ok depending on the barista you get. Unfortunately this time we were greeted by Harry who appears to be the owner/manager, from when we first entered he has this smug/ugly frown like he's disgusted that customers just walked in and he has to serve them, either way we mentioned our order and he just couldn't comprehend that we asked for an extra cup (sometimes it's too hot and the sleeve doesn't cut it or I'd like to share my drink with someone else in my group to try) he said we couldn't have an extra cup unless we ordered another drink and proceeded to cross his arms like he really couldn't be bothered if we liked the service or not but we weren't welcomed. Even the trainee he was teaching had a shocked look on her face with the way he was talking to us. He could have politely said it would be an extra charge for another cup or spoken politely with a smile, who likes to give their business to someone with a face and voice scarier then the clown from the movie Saw. It's not even Halloween yet but this guy has the best costume for categories including 1. Scariest voice & face 2. Best at repelling customers in record time 3. Best at taking your money then crossing arms and giving you horrible service. He was only missing the MUAHAHHAAHAH at the end then his entire attitude and being would be...
Read moreUPDATE: visited again today after noon. Was surprised at how rude the staff were to customers. Despite this being a busy afternoon, everyone in line was patient & their "pleases" & "thank yous" were met with eye rolling & attitude by staff. If anything it's YOUR staff who should be thanking customers for showing up in the first place even though they have other options in the area. Second Cup is already struggling as a chain and this kind of customer service doesn't help.
Drinks were as good as they normally are with second cup (which is very good). It's also nice to step into a properly renovated Second Cup which has a really nice, fresh, bright atmosphere compared to the locations which still have the decor of 15 years ago that's falling apart. Service was good, although I didn't appreciate being yelled at abruptly 10 mins before closing time from the other end of the store by the barista announcing that they're closing. There are better & classier ways of doing that. The impression you leave on your customers is just important as the food and drink...
