TL;DR Its pathetic guys, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. You have a rude cashier that doesnt know how to use your own shop's gift cards, doesnt know how to speak french, serve outdated muffin covered in fruitflies. I wish i could have given a 0.
One of the most ridiculous places I have went
First, I come with a prepaid Van houtte gift card and the rude cashier says she doesnt accept it cuz theres no dollar sign on it so she doesnt know how much money is in it. Well, instead of being rude and looking dumb, she could have just scanned it to see how much money there is in it cuz thats how modern gift cards work, money is stored in it like a wallet. But ok she doesnt accept it anyway fine.
Then she takes the muffin i would have bought out of the brown paper bag and throws it in the trash? Why? Is it because the muffin wasnt good anyway and you would have sold me an outdated muffin for me to eat? Or putting it in a paper bag made it so unsanitary that you had to throw it?
Oh yea and the patisseries shelves was full of...
Read moreI haven't had any issues with this place until today. The coffee is terrible but I buy it anyways because they have food. A guy in front of me orders his drink and I distinctly hear him order a "cafe glacé." I order a "latte glacé." Two very different drinks. The cashier repeats my order, then repeats the order to the barista twice. When the barista finishes the two drinks, she passes the latte to me and the iced coffee to the other guy. He says something to her and she says something along the lines of, "That's his drink."
I didn't even argue. I just took the iced coffee and left and made a mental note to not bother coming back. The food isn't great, but it is what it is and the coffee certainly isn't worth going out of my way for. This was just the final nail in the coffin. I'm willing to admit that maybe something got lost in translation since I don't speak French very well but I heard the cashier repeat the order 3 times. I know what I ordered, I know what the other guy ordered. And in the end I didn't get...
Read moreI had injured my knee and needed a place to sit. This was the first spot we'd found with free tables in the building. We'd already purchased tea from a rival company before we found a place to sit. After a few minutes of resting, a staff member came over and told me that the area was for their customers only. I told them that I'd hurt myself and this was the only spot in the building we could find to sit. I was told it didn't matter, we could sit if we bought something, otherwise we had to leave. I get policy. I get wanting to have space for your customers. But when you 1) have literally NO ONE in the entire section (see picture), and 2) have a guy clearly hobbling and limping with a bad knee, maybe make the executive decision to let him sit down for a...
