Hands down, the best bang for your buck around. With so many restaurants dropping their quality these days, including many of the classics on the Plateau, here's one which undeniably takes pride in what it does. You can hardly believe you're eating so well, for the price you're paying, especially when it comes to the lunch specials which are all under $20, including entree and dessert. Then again, you know the food is going to be good as soon as you see the regulars - a bunch of older Portuguese gentlemen from the neighborhood. The decor is pleasant, albeit modest. The waiter is knowledgeable, kind, and ever so pleasant. Only thing is, you gotta like fish, as that's what constitutes most of the lunch specials. So, if you wanna eat like a king for under $25 tax & tip included (before wine), this is the spot.

This is a great authentic Portuguese restaurant located near St. Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. I recommend trying the Caldo Verde and the Chourico a Bombeiro to start. The salted cod dishes like the Bolinhos de Bacalhau and Bacalhau a Braz are my favorite. The grilled sardines are also a great choice. Its best to finish with a great dessert like Pastries de Nata or Pera Bebida accompanied by an espresso. The service was friendly and the restaurant has a family feel. I definitely recommend this place.

I was very pleased with our first visit here. We were with guests from China and I wanted to give them a taste of Portuguese cuisine. Food was very good throughout and the decor is really reflective of a typical Portuguese home. Excellent wine selection of private imports at the most reasonable prices I have seen. We will certainly return.

For appetizers I shared the calamari with my brother and they were perfect. Not greasy at all and very tender. The clam chowder which was very flavourful and not too heavy. The same can be said about the seafood bisque. For the main, I had the cod. Very good. My only complaint was it was oily but that was due to the nature of the sauce. Everything on the plate tasted very good. My father had the sea bass and my mother the blackened cod. Both adored their meals and polished their plates.

Wait staff was very kind and polite and offered recommendations and help at every turn. They came often with water and to check up on us.

Atmosphere is great in this restaurant. The lighting is good, the place settings are nice, the decor is appropriate and tasteful. Tables are well spaced out and it is not too busy. One major plus is the chairs are very comfortable. More so than other restaurants I’ve been to.

Overall this was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place for any sort of celebration or for...

Wife's fish was salty and mine had no taste. Appetizers were ok. Service: My wife went next door to buy dessert since the waiter never came back for the dessert order....lol

They had their heads down most of the time so they could not see people raising their hands.

This restaurant is serving Italian food with few portuguese food on the menu.

I miss the authentic portuguese food serverd in clay dishes.

To the owner: Please change it back to the way it was. You are slowly losing customers.

The person who made a decision to change the menu to Italian should be fired and resturant back to its glorious days of serving authentic portuguese food in authentic...
