A Late-Night Gem Serving Unforgettable Flavors!
If you're exploring Montreal and find yourself craving fantastic food after most kitchens have closed, look no further than Montreal Paella! This place is a true savior for night owls and food lovers, proving that late-night eats don't have to be ordinary.
The atmosphere is lively and authentic, making you feel like you've stumbled into a cozy tapas bar in Barcelona. We started with the Pulpo A La Gallega – the octopus was incredibly tender, perfectly smoky, and seasoned with paprika and olive oil that made every bite a small celebration.
But the real star of the show was the Mariscos Paella. Packed with fresh seafood—succulent mussels, clams, shrimp, and more—this dish was an absolute flavor explosion. The saffron-infused rice was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of socarrat (that delicious crispy bottom layer). Every spoonful transported us straight to the Mediterranean coast.
Whether you're ending a night out or simply in the mood for exceptional Spanish cuisine, Montreal Paella delivers on all fronts. I'm already dreaming of my next visit to Montreal just to have another...
Read moreWe sat down when it wasn't busy, ordered, and asked the server if we can walk around while we wait for the food since it takes 40 minutes to cook. The server agreed and said come back in 30. When we came back the chef had not even started cooking yet so we didn't get our food until an hour and 10 minutes after ordering. Terrible service and don't expect to get your food in a reasonable time if you're hungry but at least the food was good. In response to the owner's response who accused me of lying on my review: I ordered at 12:15 and came back at exactly 12:50. And I confirmed with the server that it was okay if we come back after 30 minutes and the food would be ready, then we sat and recieved our croquettes at 1:20 and finally our paella at 1:30. I was checking my watch every 5 minutes. Clearly this is a miscommunication between the chef/owner and the server. It's ok if you don't want to start cooking for customers that leave, I would've had no problem waiting 40 minutes if the server explained that when we ordered. Maybe you should communicate that to your servers instead of trying to gaslight...
A true taste of Spain in Montreal🇪🇸❤️
The place is beautiful: modern, cozy, and uniquely decorated with ropes hanging from the ceiling. The kitchen is open, giving a feeling of transparency and freshness. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by a young boy who was surprisingly polite and attentive — a touching, familiar gesture that speaks volumes about the atmosphere.
I ordered two mixed paellas and four cod fritters for 75 CAD (taxes included). The fritters were creamy, mild, and delicious, but the real star was the paella.
As a Spaniard living in Canada, I deeply miss the food from home. My father was a chef for 40 years at the Casino of Peralada, and his signature dish was the mixed paella. Today, the one I tasted at Montreal Paella brought me back to those moments: the flavor of the rice, shrimp, chicken, even the green beans — everything reminded me of his paella, almost identically. That means a lot.
The rice was perfectly cooked, the seasoning was well balanced, and the portion was generous. The staff, both over the phone and in person, were kind and helpful. It’s clear this is a heartfelt project run with love and passion.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for an authentic Spanish meal in Montreal. I’ll...
