We had the pleasure of eating and sipping cocktails at The Wolf & Workman Pub, and it truly felt like stepping into a classic London pub—only with a uniquely Montreal twist. Tucked away in the charming Old Town, this spot delivered on every front, from its outstanding food to its inviting ambiance and top-notch bar service.

What truly sets The Wolf & Workman apart is its exceptional blend of traditional pub fare and local Quebecois ingredients. The menu proudly features seasonal produce sourced from Quebec’s independent farmers. We had the chance to try several dishes, including the Beef Tartare, Calamari, Scotch Egg, Salmon Gravlax, Gnocchi Bolognese, and Quebec Pork Schnitzel—each dish was delicious.

The drinks deserve a mention of their own. The mixologist behind the bar was a true artist, crafting cocktails that were as visually captivating as they were tasty. The cocktail menu incorporated local flavours, which added a twist to every classic drink.

A standout moment of our visit was meeting Sean Michael, one of the co-owners. He made us feel incredibly welcome and took the time to share the intriguing history behind the pub. Hearing about The Wolf & Workman’s journey and its commitment to quality truly enhanced the experience. Sean’s genuine passion for the pub is reflected in every detail, making the space feel even more special.

The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with rich wood accents and warm lighting that evoke the spirit of a beloved British pub—but with a distinctly Montreal touch. It was the perfect place for a casual laid-back yet sophisticated evening.

The Wolf & Workman Pub is a must-visit for anyone in search of outstanding food, exceptional cocktails, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it’s a spot you’ll want to return to. A perfect blend of London charm and Quebec pride—what’s...

Pub Wolf & Workman impressed in all the ways a top-rated restaurant should. The food, drinks, service, location, ambiance, and value; all excellent!

We made reservations well in advance for a Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, we were greeted courteously and promptly seated in a dining room. There was a terrace at the back, which looked great and was full of people enjoying the good vibe.

The whole place was lively, with a vibrant buzz, but somehow it also felt warm, inviting and relaxed, as any place calling itself a pub should feel. The inside had an aesthetically pleasing mix of old-world, even luxurious charm, with a nice modern twist. Trendy, yes, but cozy, too.

Our server was very good. Prompt. Friendly. Bilingual. She listened and engaged and gave us bang-on recommendations. It was busy and she had several tables, but she was positive, attentive and readily available all evening. Great job!

The cocktails were on point. A Coconut Marmalade Horchata and a Wild Strawberry Margarita. I also had a nice pour of Murphy's Irish Stout. All were excellent.

We started with a delicious Howard Scotch Egg with maple syrup sausage, Branston chutney and arugula. Fantastic!

For our mains, we sampled from their famous "Pie Shoppe" and had the popular Chicken Pot Pie and Beef Stroganoff Pie. They were amazing. Eye-poppingly humongous and perfectly prepared. Which is better is a matter of personal preference (esp. re: chicken vs. beef), but in our opinion the Beef Stroganoff Pie was extra-delicious and peerless.

The Wolf & Workman left a great impression as a hospitable, somewhat upscale pub-style restaurant with a great offerings and a very nice blend of British/Quebecois vibe, right in the heart of...

Food is good, but nothing crazy. For some reason our waiter "changed" 3 times , they(the waiters) were all quite nice , but its a bit confusing.

All dishes are beautifully plated, but some would benefit from(better) sides, for example the fish is said to come with a puree, but the puree is such that it blends with the sauce. When I read puree I expect a minimum of consistency. Also despite it not being indicated I could taste something akin to dill, or anise in the fish's sauce.

The burger's fries are quite great, The caprese too. I was disappointed in the pasta, they were overly salty, I never did that ever, but I requested them to redo it, and from my understanding it was impossible to do, since the pasta's sauce is done in "batch/great quantity" (not that it isnt fresh), I ended up changing my dish to chicken, but I genuinely did not want to eat an indian dish that day.

Also we came at around 5 , and were a group of 3 but, it took a while for our dish to come , some people came after us, and had the time to receive their drinks and dishes before us. Overall everyone was quite nice, but I cannot say it was my best experience.

Small tidbit, our first waiter spoke english and french, but seemed to struggle a bit(with french), but I applaud their choice to come back to make sure of our order instead of taking it wrong.

Strongest point of this place, is the ambiance, the decor, and the art, and sort of terrace behind, which is isolated from the...
