Howdy!
Good service trumps bad food, and bad service trumps good food. Unfortunately the service at Poulet Bronzé borders on the execrable.
Last night I ordered a 15 piece family meal and a 10 wing combo. The wing combo got forgotten and the salads (included with the family meal had opened and were spilled in the bag that also included the sodas - nothing like having to wipe your drinks and scrape the sides of the bag to make you feel like it's going to be an awesome meal...).
To make matters worse, when I call to inquire as to the whereabouts of the missing wings, no one thinks to say "sorry" or apologize in any way. I'm told that they will send the wings our way. 40 minutes later (the first delivery had taken almost an hour) they arrive and when I mention to the delivery guy that it's not a bad idea to check the bill against what's in the bags he starts to yell at me. In the hallway of the building. That has very thin walls. And it is now officially late at night.
I've been trying to think of any time when it would be acceptable to yell at your customers, and the closest I've come is if there is some person with a gun in the vicinity and is standing up and asking "what's going on?"
Last night that was not the case. After being yelled at by the delivery guy, I called the restaurant back and asked to speak to the manager. I was told he wasn't there (what kind of restaurant has a missing manager, I hear you ask. One with bad service I respond.) I ask that he call me back as quickly as possible as by this time I am steaming mad.
It is now 24 hours later and I still haven't heard from him.
You might think that this is an example of "haters gonna hate." But nothing could be further from the truth. I've been a customer since about 2007, just after they opened. Back when Barbara was answering the phones we were on a first name basis and she had my order memorized.
Something, obviously has changed, and changed for the worse - much worse - and as a consequence I am never going to eat another piece of their chicken. Which is a pity, as despite the fact that there really isn't any great fried chicken in Montreal, they were the best...
Read moreI'd loved this place due to delicious chickens, but I'm really really disappointed with tragic services, and the deceiving + unconscionable attitude of workers against the customer which I experienced tonight. I ordered 4chicken pieces combo and when the delivery came, there was no drink and coleslow. So, I complained to bring me those missed ones, and it took like more than 20 mins even though it was their fault. It means they are not willing to provide proper services with conscience. I got the feeling that they don't really worry or care about customer's complains. Just kept saying sorry but not willing to solve the complains. Furthermore, I even tried the chicken, I got the dry or stiff chicken for the first time among those orders that I've ordered. So, I told them I threw in the garbage can because it was so dry and bad, and one of their workers told me that they are going to send me new 4 chicken pieces. So, I felt better. And after 30mins, they gave me another phone call with another worker, and that guy told me that they need the old chicken that they sent to me. I'd already told them I threw it away before they told me this rule, and I complained like I've never heard about it. Then, do you guys know what that rude worker said? He said like, "That's the rule. And I'm sorry. I can't do anything. Have a good night and I'm busy so I should hang up the phone call. Bye." Then, he hangs up the phone with that deceiving attitude. Poulet Bronze, if you guys see this comment, then try to learn from it, and get the new workers with better manner and attitude, or the ones who have a good communication skills. They can't even understand English well, when they have to understand both English and French well. So much miscommunication. I'm not trying to be anti with this restaurant, but just too disappointed and upset with their attitude. Good luck with that...
Read moreTo be honest, I chose this place to buy fried chicken to go not because they are the best or what, just looking to save money on a cheap fast food after a series of good eats.
As most customers clearly point out, the food is really salty so it will be really nice if you have had a long hike, good workout or a long walk to buy this to go. However, I'm not adverse to salty food so on fried chicken or poutine, it works.
It was about 45 minutes before I got back to my accommodation to eat this so there was condensation on the styrofoam box (yes, they are still using styrofoam box), the fries took the hit, but because the fries was on top, it buffered the chicken from the condensation so I must say that was a little neat trick they deployed there. Coleslaw was pretty standard.
The poutine was something I wanted to give a shot here since it was pretty cheap compared to other big names and it was salty, tasty and pretty substantial.
Overall for the price, the value is pretty good, but don't expect more from what you...
