Restaurant La Traversée — Restaurant in Montreal

The food is actually very tasty, though quite light so not great if you are hungry. And of course, the view and vibes can’t be beat.

My issue was with the service - it was extremely slow, I had to ask twice for my check and still waited 15min. Also waited 10-15min before they brought me a menu.

My dish had a nice fancy cheese and that’s mainly why I chose it (the mushrooms). I noticed there was no cheese in mine, so I asked the male waiter whether the dish had cheese and he chose to lie and said “no it doesn’t.” Don’t quite understand this…. I paid for the cheese and it wasn’t there, and when I call it out they cover it up? Very strange, there’s a million better ways to handle it. When I ordered it, he could’ve told me they were out of the cheese and I could’ve chosen something else. Or when I asked he could’ve said he’s not sure and checked instead of lying about it. I would have even been happy if they had brought me out a side of the cheese to eat with my bread if it was a mistake. I feel gipped because I paid for the cheese and it wasn’t there, and I left hungry because without it the dish was just vegetables (I got no egg).

This was the worst experience ever. Been to Montreal many times would not recommend this spot to anyone. Wanted to have an amazing dinner. Just so disappointing. We paid 56.00 for a bottle of Ruffini Chianti which is priced at 14.00 (Canadian.) Once I complained, the service was worse. I could hear the negative comments. They did not know I spoke/understood French. Worst experience ever...
