I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a while and used to really enjoy the food and the casual dine-in experience. Unfortunately, my last two visits have left me thoroughly disappointed—not because of the food quality, but due to the way the staff handles dine-in customers.
On our most recent visit, we arrived more than 90 minutes before closing. The restaurant had several empty tables, but all of them were uncleared and clearly not being turned over. When we asked to dine in, we were told they had “run out of buckets.” It didn’t make much sense, but we didn’t argue—just left disappointed.
Because we enjoy their food, we placed an order via a delivery app from any of their branches minutes later. We made our order and realised it was the exact same branch that ran out of buckets. And what was accepted for delivery? The exact bucket meal we were just told wasn’t available for dine-in. So clearly they didn't run out of buckets. It was just an excuse to stop any dine ins 90s minutes before closing time!
If a restaurant doesn’t want to serve dine-in guests late in the evening, they should post that clearly or adjust their hours. Don’t mislead customers with excuses that fall apart under the lightest scrutiny, especially when it's 90 minutes before closing time!
It’s a real shame to see a place that used to be welcoming take this kind of turn. The food might still be good, but the experience and transparency have gone...
Read moreReally confused at first because I walked in at the counter with two workers just talking to each other and no greeting or acknowledge if my presence. This happened for a good minute until the one girl who was taking care of all the tables came and finally greeted me. Normally I would've left but it was raining and I wanted fried seafood. Then as the service went on I saw they were kind of trading turns working... it was interesting. It got so busy at one point that they all had to work at work... wild huh haha. Anyway, the food, the food was pretty good. It looked beautiful (check the pics) it was honestly like the most healthy tasting fried seafood I've ever had. The shrimps and chips were so crunchy (deliciously so) and they just had a not so salty nor greasy look, feel, and taste about them. I got the large portion and couldn't finish it all so took it to go. Also had sauces on the side like Heinz ketchup hot sauce, and two other dipping sauces. None were very salty nor flavorful to me strangely. Though I'm s fan of intense flavors and excellent service, I would overall recommend a visit to this place. It's like a healthy fried seafood or book spot. And prices aren't ridiculous. The meal cost me CAD$24 - CAD$34 after tax and tips and...
