Clancy's Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Niagara Falls

Thought we would try Clancy's, saw an add for their steak subs. They were extremely expensive, I have included a photo of my receipt. They were dry, one of the subs was for a person with an onion and black pepper allergy it was made wrong so that person couldn't eat. The other two that did eat were extremely disappointed, it was very dry and tasteless as well, as you can see in my photos there was hardly any meat on them, actually there wasn't really anything on them, they didn't even have the decency to load it up with the cheap toppings like lettuce to try and fool you. Times are though for everyone including myself but we try to do our part by supporting local businesses when we can (This one deserves no respect. It was a slap in the face, and a rip off.) For those in the community trying to support local businesses, I suggest supporting those who appreciate you and respect the community that made them. Overall review - Terrible food (like the worst steak sub I've ever experienced), poor attention to detail (got food allergy wrong), and just a rip off overall. Biggest disappointment in a long time. I hope my review has them open their eyes and improve for those of you who may ignore my words and go anyway. We went to Clancy’s for a late night snack last night, and I will never step foot in this bar again. We took our seats, and after 50 minutes my friends calls over the waitress and asks when our food is going to be ready. and i get it sometimes things happen and it might take a while BUT It’s not even busy AND we only ordered wings and onion rings? not only that but not once did she tell us it was going to take a while or anything! we were treated with complete disrespect- no apologies, nothing. We had to leave so we told the waitress that we couldn’t wait any longer and to just give us the bill for our drinks. She stated that ‘you can’t just leave, the food will be ready in 10 minutes, you’re on camera etc’ and I had explained that any other professional establishment would have apologized and gave us a free app for the inconvenience- but instead she BANNED US. After we payed the drink bill she was talking about us to the other customers which then stated ‘go back to your country’. I’m not sure if this was racially motivated but I’m extremely disappointed and will tell my peers to never go here. Clancys has been a staple of the niagara falls community for years and has been a big part of my life since I was young. After lacrosse games my grandfather would take me for celebratory chicken wings and a pop. My girlfriend and me would go for dinner when we were younger. But since the pandemic something has changed with there overall food quality. The servers are still.amazing but more often then not chicken seems to be over cooked, fries are undercooked,salads are smothered in too much dressing, and the wraps were watery. I know there was a different cook before the pandemic and I dont see him around anymore I'm not sure why he doesnt work but you could tell he took pride in his food preperation my family and I would order food atleast once a week if not more and would often wait more then an hour happily cause they were so busy but the delicious good was well worth the wait. Hopefully there new cook will improve with time again I cant imagine the stress running a restaurant in a time like this and I hope with time they are back where they use to be.
