I wish this wasn’t my review because it was a clean hotel and obviously brand new, but the disrespect from the manager after the experience we had (which you can read below) caused me to post. Less than 48 hours in Niagara Falls and our trip was severely impacted by the inaccurate website descriptions of rooms and mismanagement of their hotel.
For Christmas last year, we booked a weekend away in Niagara Falls for my in-laws and my family (my husband and my 15 month old). We were really excited to come and I thought I hit the jackpot by finding Cannery Lofts to book.
When I booked the rooms, I chose a 2 bedroom suite. At the time, there weren’t options listed on the website as to which “type” of two-bedroom to book (which I know there are now). I just chose what I thought would be the best room to travel with my in-laws (who are 70) and my baby. I also assumed there would be 2 bathrooms because the website said the two bedrooms had two bathrooms. When we got there, we were given room 214, which was not a two bedroom by definition (just having a pull out couch does not make it a bedroom) and there were not two bathrooms. There was no way I could make that room work with the crib, and my elderly in-laws, so I had to go back to the desk and ask for a new room. Mind you, this is after a 4 hour drive and my child desperately needed a nap, which we didn’t have a room to do that in.
We were then moved to room 204 around 5pm. 204 was fantastic, and exactly what I anticipated for the weekend. But we were told it was not available for Saturday. The front desk told us that we would then be moved into rooms 105 and 104 the next day, and they said 105 would be ready whenever we wanted it Saturday morning. So, we packed all of our bags, food, breast milk, and snacks into the crib, and went down to the lobby to get the key to 105 at 9am on Saturday morning. I bet you can guess that it wasn’t ready… so we went back up to 204 and kept our stuff packed in the crib and went to walk around until the room would be ready.
Around noon, we were told 105 was ready, but 104 was not. So we moved all of our stuff into room 105, and waited until 4pm until 104 was ready.
As you can see, this was less than ideal. In 36 hours of being in Canada, we were in 3 different rooms. We could not unpack our things. We could not get comfortable. My child’s nap kept getting pushed all around because we didn’t have a place to land that had our things unpacked. We were living out of bags, and couldn’t even use the amenities in the rooms because we weren’t in one place long enough to do so. This was really unfortunate.
The hotel didn’t do anything to remedy this for us. The manager has ignored my emails and has shown their true colors. I will not stay here again as there are plenty of other hotels that function better than this one and wouldn’t have put us through what they did with no...
