Terrible. We booked a family of five for a birthday dinner (informed them of this). We were told to arrive on time so the table could start cooking - assumed we are sharing a teppenyaki table with others, which is fine. We get there at 740p (reservation is 745p).
We are told to sit in the nice waiting area. We sit there with other people for about 20 minutes. We notice people in the teppan area are still sitting without food/anyone cooking. People in waiting area are walked to their tables.
At the thirty minute mark I inquire as to why things are late (there are several empty cookstations). The girl who is very very timid apologizes and says it will be couple more minutes. I sit. Ten minutes pass and I go up again and wait for someone to attend to the reception desk. Someone else comes over and says our table is ready. They walk us well into the back area where no one is and is very isolated from the rest of the restaurant and we are seated, grill is switched on, and we are told we are being joined by two other people.
ten minutes later, we are asked if we want drinks. Wife is upset by now and goes to talk to manager, which is very unclear if one was actually working due to the fact when we express we are approaching an hour late on our reservation - the response we get is "sorry, did you want us to continue with the reservation?"
We walked out. They were surprised we were leaving and I simply said it was a terrible first experience.
I also noted the tables that were sitting in the front STILL had no food/service/cooking going on.
The place was definitely understaffed, the staff that were there were far too inexperienced in the service industry to handle the restaurant, and there was definitely a lack of leadership in the place.
Suisha Gardens needs to find a new management staff in the very least and train their service staff properly.
Taking on customers continuously while you're obviously unable to handle your current load (restaurant was at 50% capacity), you need to recognize this and re evaluate your business model.
Its a shame - the place looks nice.
I can't say anything about the food other than some of the pricing doesn't make sense. (filet being 5 bucks more than sirloin, but if you upgrade sirloin in a combo (steak and shrimp), its an extra 7 for the same weight)...more oddities in pricing on menu as well, but I don't recall which was what.
Suisha Gardens started my son's birthday celebration on a terrible note, though we recovered through going to another restaurant that clearly had trained staff for a restaurant.
I'm surprised this place...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Suisha Garden in Niagara Falls, and I must say that it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The lack of customer service, from the owner to the servers, was appalling, and the only redeeming factor was the minimal effort put forth by the male busser.
First and foremost, the timing of the food delivery was a complete disaster. Our entrees arrived in different waves, with each dish coming out at a completely different time. It was an incredibly frustrating and disjointed dining experience. To make matters worse, our last guest had to wait a staggering hour after everyone else had been served to finally receive her food. We were forced to sit there patiently, growing increasingly hungry and irritated.
What was even more disheartening was the complete absence of an apology or any form of acknowledgment from the management. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the situation, the response we received was simply, "We are extremely busy." I'm sorry, but that excuse doesn't hold water. The restaurant did not seem overly crowded, and it is not an acceptable reason for such poor service.
To add insult to injury, the kids' meals were a disaster. They took a whopping 50 minutes to arrive, leaving the children hungry and restless. And to top it off, when the food finally did arrive, the kids absolutely despised it. It was a major disappointment for them, and as a parent, it was disheartening to witness their disappointment.
Considering the abysmal level of service, the chaotic timing of the meals, and the complete disregard for customer satisfaction, I can confidently say that this will be my last visit to Suisha Garden. I expected so much more from a restaurant, especially in a tourist destination like Niagara Falls. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment and avoid this establishment at all costs. There are plenty of other dining options in the area that will provide a far...
Read moreI will start off by letting you know, I am a Gluten Free, and Dairy free eater. (& Have been for 7 years since June 2014.) My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner here, two nights in a row. There's definitely room for improvement, but they were already doing well on improvement the next night. Either well they did Great! Good on checking the sauces (including the hot sauce, so the next time I didn't eat the spicy sushi maki rolls, or even the Miso soup). They had / have a gluten free teriyaki sauce, and a gluten free sauce with the Good brand that's more genuine to most Japanese restaurants. Unfortunately it wasn't caught the first night, that I don't eat dairy, soon enough...as I was not going to eat the stir fried rice with a cup or 1/2 cup of butter in it. BUT it looked beautiful, and I would have greatly enjoyed it if I could have. The bean sprouts vegetable stir fry, and the shrimp were absolutely delicious. (Cooked with garlic and oil). The chef did a Fantastic job cooking on the flat top grill, making a fun show as they do. I had come in feeling very tired from a day of more activity than I had been used to, and a struggle getting up from a nap, but that was a great wake up. I am sure the cooks get all types of people to present to, and he was/they were patient with my calmer, quieter, demeanor. I very much appreciate that. A server in his/their twenties (by my estimate) asked us the second night we came, if we were regulars, like Locals, or Tourists. We responded with that we were tourists. Out of the three types of Maki rolls I had on the second night, I Liked the Salmon-Avacado the Best, then the Avacado-Cucumber. We most preferred the rolls with the rice on the outside. Those were the ones we'd enjoy the rolls as a Whole then. My third roll I had was the White Tuna, which was also satisfactory. Whenever we go back someday, we'll look...
