We went around 6 pm on Saturday (they close at 8:30). We tried to order the Gamjatang and we were told they were sold out because a big group of tourists had visited earlier in the day. Then we tried to order Jajangmyeon, and they had sold out of that as well.
So we ordered sundubu and were told it doesn't come with rice. It was 17.99 pre tax. The good thing about this dish was that it was delicious. But for 17.99, that portion was not great and served without rice, it's not worth it and is rather cheap of the restaurant.
We also ordered stir fried Udon for around 19.99. Also small portion and not worth it for the price at all.
I guess coming from Toronto, these prices and portions didn't do it for me. And I've never heard of Korean stew being served without rice at a restaurant so it weirded me out. On their website it says it's served with rice so maybe they were trying to scam us because we look like foreigners.
Their side dishes tasted good. We tried to get a refill on them one time, but got 3/5 refilled as I think the server had put two of them away.
Overall, tasty food, but portions were small and no rice was weird. Not worth eating here if you're coming from out of town. Maybe this is the norm...
Read moreI went to this Korean restaurant with my friends last week to experience reservations! We ordered bibimbap, tender pot and Korean fried chicken, which tasted very authentic. I especially like their bibimbap, the rice crust is crispy, the sauce is very tasty, and the side dishes are also rich. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and sweet and spicy on the inside.
The waiter is very friendly and serves the dishes quickly. He comes over from time to time to add water and change plates. The restaurant environment is clean and the layout is very Korean style. It is suitable for friends to get together or for couples to have dinner.
The price is also reasonable, which is worth it for such quality. In short, it was a very satisfying dining experience, and I will try their barbecue...
Read moreDuru Korean Restaurant Niagara Falls is the best Korean Restaurant in the Niagara Region. This place is a hidden gem. The food, service and atmosphere is just incredible. The owners who are a couple are an amazing team. The husband is the cook and chef while his wife is the host and server. You feel welcome and appreciated. My go to is the Pork Bone Soup, the meat just falls apart from the bone and the soup is so flavourful. I mix the soup with the rice and it’s a great combo. They also have the Jjang Bong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) and Jja-Jang Myung (Korean Pasta) which popular and tasty. The complimentary side dishes are also delicious. I recommend Duru for anyone who want to experience a taste of...
