Expensive, Terrible food and terrible service. The place was pretty dead when we got here for lunch. Our waitress was fairly picky about where we could sit on the patio. There was 2 of us but as you can see they have really tiny Ikea balcony bistro tables outside so we picked one that was 2 tables together. She said she had to keep these spots open for bigger groups. Except the entire place … including the streets were empty. We ordered the mimosas which attracted a swarm of wasps. There were too many of them to keep off our drinks. The waitress never came outside to check on us while our food was being prepared. And so by the time she came out with food we had dead wasps in our drinks. The food by the way took 30 mins to come out. We asked to move inside to eat since we were being bothered by the wasps. We ate inside and the food was just so underwhelming. If you’re going to charge 20 bucks for eggs and take 30 mins to cook them then it should at least be tasty. My eggs were so overdone. There no way the croissants were fresh or baked in house. The crepe was bland and tasteless and the food was cold. When we got our bill the mimosas were still being charged to us even though we barely got a sip. The waitress said that’s not her problem. We said that we didn’t even get to drink them and she didn’t even offer to get us new drinks. It’s just common sense - if you care about your clientele. She said she would have to ask her manager but the manager is on break so we had to wait. She did end up removing them off our bill but not without letting us know what a big favour it was. When we left the drinks were actually still sitting out on the patio table - she never even bothered to pick them up. As you can see from the patio it was dead and there was no real reason for such poor food and service.

Spent a romantic weekend with my gf in niagara falls last year and we arrived way earlier than our hotel checkin time so we hopped on yelp and found this highly rated french bistro 10-15 min away. When we arrived, we didn't notice any street parking out front (as it's a quaint little spot) so we pulled up in the back where there was designated parking). The first thing you notice when you walk in to the resto is french posters and older paint finishes on the bar and upholstery). There was one waitress manning the entire front of house but luckily it wasn't too busy at lunch on a friday. She was extremely nice and bubbly. We were sat and brought water right away. We settled on a pair of savoury crepes. The sud ouest (which was made with duck confit) and the papillon (which came with ham and apple compote). We also ordered some chai and a cappucino to wash it all down. We were both pleasantly surprised with the big size of the crepes. Both crepes were delicious. So crispy and thin. The onion jam went so well with the duck but the true star of the show was the apple compote in the papillon crepe. It was a PERFECT balance of flavours. The saltiness of the ham and swiss cheese combined with the sweetness of the apple was just an explosive bite every time. I'm not sure if the resto uses farm to table philosophy, but the ingredients tasted REALLY fresh. The cheese was very good quality and I felt like they cured their own ham in house. My gf gave the cappucino double thumbs ups and while the chai latte wasn't the best one I've ever had, it was very, very solid and not overly sweet. It was an amazing meal to start a weekend getaway trip and I'll be back in the future for sure! (possibly for dinner?)

UPDATE: unfortunately I understand everyone who talked about the terrible service. We came back here 2 days after our great initial experience, and got kicked out.

We started our order with a French onion soup (which we also got 2 days earlier, and was amazing). The soup was really burnt - the croutons were literally charcoal black. We did notice that 5 minutes earlier some friends of the chef came in and spoke with him in the kitchen and he also left the kitche a few times to hang out with them, and I overheard that the order next to us got messed up by accident, I assume both issues were due to the chef being preoccupied with his friends. It's ok, I found it cool that the chef was having fun, I wasn't angry, just thought he made a mistake. I politely asked for it to be made again not burnt. Only 1 minute goes by and a different server comes to us and angrily gives us a soup and mumbles angry words towards us. I was confused but didn't think much of it. The new french onion soup was cold, the cheese not melted, and the croutons inside that are supposed to be soft and crumbly were rock solid hard. Clearly they just dumped some ingredients and gave it to us immediately. I guess the chef really cared for his friends more than us... We felt really bad sending it back again, never in my life have I sent back an order twice, so I debated if I should or if it's too insulting. I decided it's a very nice restaurant and anyone seeing these two soups would agree they're not serve-able. So I very apologetically asked for it to be returned and made it clear that I don't mind waiting 5-10min for it to be made again, or I can just remove the soup from the order and continue to the meal - whichever they prefer.

The server came back informing me that the chef doesn't want me in the restaurant. I was shocked, I've never been kicked out of anywhere, I didn't understand what she meant. I asked if I can still order my crepe but she repeated and clarified that they don't want anything to do with me and I must leave.

The server we had, a young brunette woman, was extremely friendly and apologetic and I still tipped her very well despite being kicked out, unfortunately I didn't get her name but if you're reading this - thank you for being a great server both times we came! But everyone else in this restaurant (we came in contact with 3 other staff) is absolutely horrendous. Too bad because the food can be great if the chef is up to it.

Original 5-star review: Authentic French food. They have proper French onion soup and French french fries, absolutely delicious. Our server was a sweetheart and very helpful and made us want to...

Bad waitress with a nasty attitude. Came in 3 separate times and was hoping to get a different waitress. Friends even received this waitress and prewarned me about the bad service of this specific waitress. Unfortunately I got the same waitress with the black & pink hair each time. Each time I spent about $150 and its been a bad experience each time. I started ordering and she says “you can’t keep ordering all sorts of dishes” (due to the size of the table I guess). It was only one dish but a bad way to start a table even in an empty restaurant. Every time we asked for something it seemed to always be a problem with a huff. I served for 6 years and I understand it can be tough some days but no reason to treat your customers nasty, especially when they’re being polite. She asked to clear some empty plates and we said yes, but when she started taking the ones we still had food on, I said “oh sorry, were still working ok this one” and she said “… well I mean thats why I asked….”. She only had one other table or no other table each time I was there. Each question was problematic for her. We asked for an extra plate for our shared appetizer and she never brought one, and when asked again she told us we didn’t need one and the dish that was coming later already came with a plate. The extra plate never came and we were made to share which again I realize is a very forst world problem but a spare appetizer plate isn’t a hard ask. Always answered with attitude and huffed at each request. Even blatantly ignored one of the guests at my table and started no longer answering them. She definitely heard each request unfortunately and just paused and turned to me each time to talk through me. At least complain and roll your eyes out of view of your table. Even in the back with your coworkers, but not at the table. This person unfortunately just should not work in the service industry. I tried to be patient, as maybe its a bad day; but 3 times. Yikes. Unfortunately just the worst service I have ever received. It isn’t just pricey food and mediocre service, its pricey and with terrible service. :/ sorry but I wouldn’t recommend this place just due to...

Service is slow and not welcoming.

Food is average.

If you like waiting and being ignored- this is the place just right for you👌🏻

We came in with 2 toddlers and the place had a table for 4, we agreed to sit there as we could fit toddlers on the bench with us. A rude lady told us to wait as the table wasn’t cleaned, so a kid had to get off the table and wait. Same lady walked away and for 5 minutes I was watching her looking at me and not coming 😂 to the table.

15 minutes later the table was mopped by another waitress when I looked at them with the hope in my eyes.

Once we got sitted, no one came over. We never got the menus, so we got them ourselves.

The waitress then came over and we placed an order.

30 minutes later we had 2 coffees on the table of 6, no ordered juices, no waters - because why bringing water to people.

50 minutes later we got the food. Soup was served with other dishes at once. ( soup was pretty good!), we also got salmon Bennies ( meh, nothing to talk about here) and eggs in wine sauce ( it was good).

Drinks were still not served.

We asked for the juice and cider again and got them in the middle of being done with the meal. And one of us got juice spilled over her clothes by the waitress.

We also ordered bread and croissants and they were fresh and soft.

Our crepe that was put in with the order as the second course wasn’t served. We asked for check and waited. When the check arrived, we pointed that the crepe was never served and the waitress asked if we still want it ( by the way, it wasn’t served as the chef doesn’t like when there are plates on the table” at this point we only had drinks left on the table , so still questionable )

Maybe they not as busy on regular days, we came in on Saturday.

Also, interior is beautiful, just like in Paris.

I will definitely not recommend this place for any of the people I know so they don’t get such a bad experience.

Thank you...
