My favourite store in all of Niagara. I go here a couple times a month to play board games with my family, and it's always the highlight of my weekend when we do. The MASSIVE selection of board games allows you to try out games that interest you without having to buy them, although you'll likely end up getting some because you like them so much. The owners are extremely nice and very knowledgeable, they can recommend games that fit exactly what you're looking for either through game mechanics or theme. We've also started doing the escape rooms, which are one of the most fun things I've ever done. The rooms are designed very well, somehow offering a challenge for adults but also having things that even my 11 year old son was able to figure out. I can't recommend this place enough, as you can have an entire afternoon of fun for just the $5/person sitting fee to play board games.

We had a blast playing two escape rooms back-to-back here! We started with the hardest room and worked our way to the easiest – both escapes were a success (though our brains needed a bit of a cool-down after the first one!). The puzzles were well-designed and challenging, but not impossible – just the right amount of brain-bending fun. The location itself is awesome too. Not only do they have great rooms, but they also sell board games and have a whole area dedicated to playing them. You can grab a coffee or snack while you’re at it – it’s pretty much a one-stop shop for all your gaming needs. If I didn’t live so far away, I’d definitely be back to tackle the rest of their rooms. For anyone near Clifton Hill, it’s well worth the walk – trust me, your brain and your friends will thank you!

Review of the Board Game Cafe portion only! My friend and I came here on a random rainy Saturday, and it ended up being the best decision of the day! We had a blast playing many different games for 4 hours! You absolutely cannot go wrong with the price either. It was $5 per person with no time limit. Where can you get entertainment value of $5 for 4 hours, especially in Niagara??? No where! They also have snacks, drinks and a bunch of craft beer. We also ordered some of those and the price was still fantastic. We will be coming here again in the future!

UPDATE: We were asked to come back and did the easy bake oven and had a blast! I want to thank Niagara escapement for having us back again and showing us what a real escape room is!😁

This place was absolutely soo much fun, it was clean, and the game host was super nice. It was myself and my 2 friends first time doing an escape room, and we enjoyed it very much. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because when we got into the room and started looking for clues, 2 locks we already off which we didn't even know(but found kind of strange that they were off), until the host came in and told us those 2 locks were suppose to be on. Sort of sucked because we lost a good bit of our time since we were trying to figure out what was behind what was suppose to be locked, what the clue meant, and why the locks weren't on. Those 2 locks were major factors in us getting the code for the bathroom and closet. He asked us if we wanted it back on and we said yes because we wanted to go through it as if the locks were on and since those 2 locks were a part of a bigger clue for the code for the bathroom and closet, we wanted to figure it out. So with the time we spent trying to figure out the words behind it since the locks were off, to the time the host came into our room to make sure we were aware that those locks should've been on, to us deciding to have the locks back on, it was about 15 minutes or more of time we lost that we could've spent doing the clues and progressing. Wish we were able to get that time we lost due to it not being set up or if we were able to stay a bit over the time to make up for what we lost that was not our fault (also not blaming the host because mistakes happen), but for what we paid, we wish something could've been done to give us some time back. But...

We visited on Sat Dec 3 to experience "The End of the World" as a group of 4. We got there about an hour earlier but they were accommodating enough to let us start earlier than our booked time since there wasn't a group before us.

The room was challenging but fun as we navigated through all the puzzles. At times we had to work separately and then together to figure everything out. Everything in the room had a purpose and in hindsight, everything made so much sense! In the end we were able to complete the room, but we had some hints and luckily some extra time as there wasn't a group booked right after us. This made the experience that more worth it as we were able to see it to completion because we were so close (just ran out of time)!

When we exited, we got to meet the brains behind all the puzzles! I assume it was the manager/owner and you could see the sheer joy on his face just listening to us chatter about our time inside the room. All the staff were super friendly and helpful! We were told we were fun to watch and it was just as fun having "Big Brother" watch our moves.

I would definitely return to try out their other room, "Easy Bake Coven" and apparently a 3rd room is coming soon! Price point is great and if you have at least 4 people in your group, I suggest to try "The End of the World"! Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they have a games area where you can play so many different board/card games before and/or after your experience. They also offer drinks....

After doing escape rooms in multiple locations in Niagara I can confidently say Niagara Escarpment is the best. We have done easy bake oven and the last Christmas, they were both exciting and we had a blast. Their puzzles are all logical and don't take huge logic leaps. They have cool mechanisms and different ways of opening as well as accompanied by sounds and great audio storyline bits. The rooms are all decorated very well with the theme and puzzles fun to solve. You get invested and immersed in the story. They clearly show the escape chance so you can choose rooms that suit you. By far the best in Niagara and my first recommendation. They also have a HUGE collection of board games from uno to very advanced games. They have a few nights a week that are free to play, and a very cheap sitting fee other days. If you play an escape room board games are free to play after for as long as you like! So you get a whole day's worth of fun for a great price. They have board games for sale as well as hand crafter items, some snacks and drink options. They have also added birthday packages for escape rooms and D&D experiences at a very reasonable rate. Overall a fantastic way to...
