The owner didnt even apologize in the reply LOL. See you when your restaurant closes in a few years. Very rude staff. Horrible customer service, especially towards fellow filipinos. The issue isn't just the bad cooking quality of the food. Its incredibly generic for filipino food. The litson was dry and rubbery plus it was just hunks of fat on it. Not the crispy yet juicy litson most people are used to. I imagine its how a shoe would taste like. The garlic rice tasted like plain rice just garnished with fried garlic. That's like saying chocolate ice cream when its a cup of vanilla ice cream with crumb of chocolate on top. I would give it 2 stars if the "owner"? (rude and condescending lady with no eyebrows and has a very annoying voice) didn't have such a horrendous attitude. What a typical toxic filipino, ESPECIALLY towards other filipinos. I would encounter people like you when I visited the Philippines a few times in my life. Will never come back here again. You should try and run a canteen at a prison(it already looks like prison food) if you were going to interact with your customers that rudely and serve food of that quality. I will bet my money your restaurant wont last another 2 years.. it doesn't deserve too either...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. I have a long history with Filipino food and I know the difference between good and bad. This was awful. I ordered the Lechon to go and a vegetable dish. I got home and the 'Lechon' was just a rubbery container full of fat. The veges were completely overpowered by the flavour of fish paste and had become a mush. Filipino food will never be one of the great cuisines of the world, but when it is done well, it is hearty, boldly flavoured and satisfying. Arroz failed badly on every count. Avoid. Addendum: Regarding the response from the owner. Yes - I ate the food 'fresh', of course. I live a block away and I picked it up, took it home and ate it within 15 minutes. I am perfectly aware that lechon has fat - but what I received was 95% fat and 5% skin, which was not crispy at all - it was like shoe leather, which was a perfect match for the fat, which was like shoe rubber. Why on Earth would I put my real name here? What would I gain from that? I didn't sign up to just to say negative things about your place - you can check my other reviews. I tell the truth about my experience wherever I go and I'm sorry, buddy, the truth is...
Read moreI was excited to learn there's a Filipino restaurant near to where I work. The menu looked agreeable and I have ordered once before today and was satisfied. Today is another story. I ordered from a third party delivery app (they were great, and I have no issues with them). My issue is with the value of the money I spent for my order. I understand inflation. But to spend $12 - $14 for a single serving of Sinigang, which is advertised as a "main" on the menu and only receive the smallest possible take-out container imaginable, is appalling. On top of that, the container was not packaged properly for take-out because the soup spilled on the way to my office, leaving a puddle of soup at the bottom of the bag, rendering the napkin I paid $1.00 for completely useless. When I called the restaurant to speak to the manager and confirm the size of the container, the woman who answered the phone became very defensive very quickly and interrupted me at every opportunity to make her point. Today's experience has turned me off this restaurant. They need to be more careful on how they treat their customers. The pen is mightier...
