Mothers Day outing on Saturday, which included brunch at the Beacon. We had hoped to secure a spot on the patio, but it was full. However, we were seated in a spot looking out on the patio, and I snagged the most comfortable chair ever! The 'bottomless' Mimosas were a hit( u pay regular price for 1st one and then 4$ for rest). No drip coffee, but the Americano was delish. No refills so maybe have a cup before u come ;) Breakfast was amazing. I know, it's breakfast, but the eggs benny and regular breakfast just seemed fresher and everything homeade. The wait staff were all amazing but especially our server( sad the I forgot her name), but she went out of her way to ensure there was no garlic in any part of my daughters breakfast. She was delightful to chat with, and everyone of the staff seemed so happy to be working there. Kudos to the owner as you are doing something right. We never felt rushed, and food items came out with ample time to just sit and chat and enjoy this precious Mother- daughter time. The menu looks amazing for all meals throughout the day, and we most certainly will be back. Great spot in a great town.

Came here explicitly for the oysters. Ordered a dozen even though the cost on the menu said $48, which amounted to $4 a shuck. They were underwhelming and tiny little oysters, nothing special about it. At least they were fresh. Also ordered the grilled octopus which was unfortunately rubberized and served with unseasoned potatoes. I was pretty unimpressed with that. Ordered one of the $18 specialty cocktails and I was shocked to discover how effing tiny of a serving it was. It was tasty but lasted 2 sips. This place plays itself off as swanky but it’s faking it till it makes it, and it hasn’t made it yet as far as I’m concerned. Service was incredibly slow, server spilled ALL the melted ice water from the oyster dish on my mom when clearing the plate, which didn’t matter, but isn’t the kind of mistake a place passing itself as fine would experience. If you have money to burn and no imagination on where to burn it, this is the place for you.

We ordered the charcuterie boards to share and thanks to our amazing server we were also very lucky to have had the chance to try their bone marrow dish. Charcuterie board was great. Def hit the spot and was the perfect amount for 2 people. 5/5 The Bone marrow dish was a solid 5/5! Cooked perfectly and flavoured just right. The chili pepper slices complimented each bite so good. I highly recommend it. Def a 5/5 Service was amazing. Our waitress (sorry I forgot her name) was great. Friendly and very attentive. Patio was really nice too. Great set up and we were comfortable and not rushed at all. The mocktails were good. Maybe a bit too sweet for my taste but that's a personal preference. My girlfriend's drink was the Mr Pepper. That was really good and the ginger gave it that great bit of bite to it. Overall, we had a great time. Food was awesome and service was super on point. Def a 5/5 highly r

What a delightful experience we had at Beacon in Downtown Oakville! This restaurant truly surpassed our expectations and left us with a lasting impression of its incredible culinary offerings and impeccable service.

First and foremost, the food was exceptional. We started with the Burrata, and it was an absolute delight. Creamy and rich, it melted in our mouths and was beautifully complemented by the accompanying fresh ingredients. The Charcuterie Board was a delicious mix of cured meats, cheeses, and artisanal accompaniments, making for a perfect shareable option that tantalized our taste buds.

The Mussels were another highlight of the evening. Cooked to perfection in a flavorful broth, we couldn't resist soaking up every last drop with the crusty bread provided. It was evident that the kitchen takes great care in sourcing top-notch ingredients and preparing them with skill and passion.

As for the cocktails, they were simply superb. The mixologists at Beacon know their craft well, and the cocktails were both creative and masterfully balanced. Each sip was a delightful journey of flavors, and we thoroughly enjoyed our selections throughout the evening.

One of the best aspects of our dining experience was the ambiance. We opted to sit on the terrace, and it was a fantastic decision. The outdoor seating area had a warm and inviting atmosphere, providing a perfect setting to enjoy the vibrant downtown Oakville surroundings. The staff thoughtfully arranged the seating, ensuring a comfortable and intimate dining experience.

If the weather hadn't been as cooperative, we noticed that Beacon also has a classy indoor seating area. It's reassuring to know that regardless of the weather, patrons can enjoy the same level of sophistication and charm indoors.

Lastly, we cannot praise the staff enough. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed and attentively cared for throughout the evening. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, accommodating, and genuinely passionate about their restaurant, making us feel like valued guests.

Overall, Beacon in Downtown Oakville is a gem that should not be missed. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner spot or a place to enjoy great food and cocktails with friends, Beacon caters to all occasions with style and finesse. We can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing menu. Thank you, Beacon, for a truly memorable...

Went to Beacon over the weekend for a friend’s birthday party. My experience throughout the night was good.

Although my experience was completely ruined at the end of the night when the staff had given away my credit card to somebody random as I was not in the building when the rest of my group was settling up their bills.

Close to the end of the night I was outside of the restaurant helping a friend get home, and when I returned inside to settle up my bill the bar staff told me that they had given away my credit card to “somebody in my group who had blonde hair and wore a coat.” Firstly I will applaud their amazing effort to not even get a name of the person they are giving my secure information to, but to describe them as somebody wearing a coat… in the middle of winter… very helpful.

They then proceeded to passive aggressively “apologize” to me for giving away my credit card, and then trying to “resolve” the situation by telling me to cancel my card. While I am well aware of the procedures regarding credit cards when they are essentially stolen, my biggest issue is that this was completely avoidable. In no situation should any bar staff/server be giving away a credit card to ANYBODY but the person whose name is on the card. Apparently anybody can go up to the bar staff at this restaurant and grab a random credit card, by simply stating that they knew the person whose card it was.

The way the staff handled this situation was completely unprofessional. As somebody who works in the food service industry, I am still shocked at how this was handled. When I brought up how concerning and unprofessional they handled this situation to the staff they responded in a passive-aggressive manner instead of offering a sincere apology or taking responsibility. Their attitude came off as dismissive and accusatory as they claimed I tried to walk out on my bill….which only added to my frustration. How exactly can I walk out on a bill if you have my method of payment…? The lack of accountability was especially concerning—they seemed unwilling to acknowledge their mistake.

I think management may need to retrain their staff on procedures regarding credit cards, giving out secure information to strangers, and proper etiquette when talking...

My husband and I came here on Valentine’s Day. We usually go to Ce Soir however they were fully booked so we decided to try Beacon as it is their sister restaurant. What a mistake!

I booked a 5pm seating as we had our kid with us and wanted to have a quick dinner. Firstly, they seated us at a table for 2 crammed in between other tables, even though the restaurant was empty when we arrived. I had called ahead that afternoon to let them know we had a child with us and they said it would be no issue.

We waited 30 minutes for a server to even attend at our table to pour us water and this only happened after I went to the front desk to ask for service.

Thereafter we got some water and again had to wait several minutes for service. I tried to flag someone down again, a server came by and literally just stood at the table with his notepad saying nothing. We expected to hear someone about the multi course menu or specialty drink option.

Annoyed, we quickly ordered drinks and our meals.

Our server was changed and I informed her that we had to leave in about 45 mins. Time is going by and none of the meals came out on time. We waited close to 1.45 hrs for our mains to come while other tables that came after us already had theirs. By this point our kid was getting hungry and antsy and we were beyond annoyed for having been neglected the entire seating.

By this point I flagged the manager who apologized profusely but had no explanation for the poor service. Our meals came and they were lacklustre.

We packed up our dessert as we had no interest in staying any longer.

This was a $150 per person fixed price menu and although one meal was compensated there was literally zero experience for us whatsoever. It felt like a total waste.

The service was absolutely terrible, I cannot believe how they can justify charging such prices with such poor service standards.

We frequent downtown Oakville restaurants regularly and I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. It left for a really poor dining experience when we were looking forward to having a special...
