This was a great hamburger experience. We've tried all the fancy burgers in Windsor and were left feeling hungry and broke.
There are so many burger joints now and every restaurant has thier own twists. Different cuts of beef, different toppings, unique cooking methods... Sometimes you just want a plain old ground beef hamburger. Simon's aims to please in that category. The burgers are delicious and simple. The double bacon cheese is a monster to finish and juicy the whole way through. Fresh toppings and a good selection of condiments to add. Fresh cut fries were a little overdone but still delicious. We also ordered a specialty burger, the Greek Burger, which was excellent and loaded with feta. We look forward to returning to Windsor to try another few.
The one thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review was staff. They seemed generally uninterested in the customer's experience. While they were smiling and pleasant, we left without even a goodbye.
You should try this place. It really is a fantastic, simple and down to earth hamburger at a great price. A great hamburger experience that will leave you feeling full and happy with enough cash left in your pocket for other things to do! (Or a...
Read moreI don't know where all these good reviews came from... I heard a lot of hype about this place so I went here with a friend. It was Saturday night and my buddy went into the bathroom to wash his hands and said the bathroom looked like a disaster zone.
There were 3 pimple faced kids (one with an arm in a sling) trying to make a burger. They are very generous with the toppings, I'm sure it's to mask the blandness of the burger. I've seen photos of the 'homemade' looking burger, but my double burger had two patties that looked like they came right out of the Schneider's frozen pack.
Bit in and all I could taste was the toppings, meat had no flavour. First and last time I'll eat here. I'm not a 'gourmet' and can make far superior patties at home for my BBQ. What a disappointment. Fresh cut fries had me in the door, I love them. They were soggy and not fresh. Terrible. If anyone is looking for real fresh cut fries, go to Rock Bottom.
If that was an example of their burgers, those who reviewed it highly don't know what a "real burger" is. I should have asked for...
Read moreFair warning it's a live kitchen, so it can get hot and stuffy real quick and forces you to leave rather than sit there. So the best advice, i can give is to walk out and take a bite or eat it outside, so you can complain on the spot to avoid the responses the management is giving here. My review is based on their bacon beef burger. The people below complaining about the bun are correct, the outer shell is hard as rusk. Unwilling to waste the rest of the burger I tossed the top bun off, only to be greeted with a sour tomato, stale lettuce and extremely dry over cooked bacon which like the bun was also hard and stale. The Beef patty was probably the only fresh item in the burger so if you want to try this joint get the simple beef burger and ask the polite hard working staff to grill the bun for you ( steam and heat should make the bun moist and soft). Worth pointing out that while I waited over 15 orders for poutine went out so maybe that's...
