Nestled in the heart of Kingston, Score Pizza offers a unique dining experience where patrons become the architects of their own culinary creations. Upon entering, the aroma of freshly baked dough wafts through the air, enticing visitors with the promise of delectable delights.
The concept of "make your own pizza" is the cornerstone of Score Pizza's appeal. As a customer, you're not just ordering a meal; you're embarking on a gastronomic journey where every ingredient choice is a brushstroke on the canvas of your personal masterpiece. The interactive process begins as you approach the counter, where a team of skilled pizza artisans awaits, ready to bring your vision to life.
Watching these artisans at work is a spectacle in itself. With practiced precision, they knead the dough, spread the sauce, and meticulously arrange an array of fresh toppings. Their expertise is evident in every movement, ensuring each pizza is crafted to perfection.
During my visit, I opted for a classic Margherita with a twist, adding sun-dried tomatoes and caramelized onions to elevate the flavor profile. As I watched my creation take shape, I couldn't help but marvel at the artistry unfolding before me.
Once assembled, my pizza was swiftly transferred to the blazing hot oven, where it underwent a magical metamorphosis. Within minutes, the crust emerged golden and crisp, the cheese bubbly and molten, and the toppings perfectly melded together in harmonious union.
The first bite was a revelation. The crust possessed the ideal balance of chewiness and crunch, providing a sturdy foundation for the symphony of flavors that followed. Each ingredient sang with its own distinct note, yet together they formed a chorus of culinary bliss. What truly sets Score Pizza apart is not just the quality of their ingredients or the skill of their artisans, but the sense of camaraderie fostered within their walls.
As I savored each mouthful, I couldn't help but feel a sense of kinship with my fellow diners, united in our shared love for good food and good company.
In conclusion, my experience at Score Pizza was nothing short of extraordinary. From the interactive dining concept to the impeccable execution, every aspect exceeded my expectations. Read moreHeard fantastic things but It's packed in the summer and the layout is not built to handle a massive amount of people efficiently so it can get cramped and confusing.
It's basically the subway of pizza. There's some different types of pizza on the menu board but it's big thing is choosing the toppings for your pizza, which admittedly is a pretty great concept for pizza, I wish it would be executed well.
You are not getting a gourmet pizza, you're not getting any sort of great specialty pizza, you're getting a fairly basic (even with all the topping combinations) thin crust pizza and to this day it's the only pizza I've ever eaten from a restaurant or place that supposedly specializes in pizza, that a frozen pizza could compete with.
The far pizza in the photo is supposed to be margarita pizza and I don't remember exactly what I ordered to receive the other pizza in the picture but it was nothing special. I'm ashamed to say we chuckled at the margarita pizza in disbelief because I like to give places the benefit of the doubt, even if I don't really enjoy the meal and I know that sometimes, things just aren't for me. However the wait time, coupled with the price and the eventual quality of the pizza have lead to our happy decision to never return here
This place would be alright with only a dozen or so people inside , if you were craving a little thin crust pizza to mess around with the toppings on , drink a beer with and maybe even eat outside but so many other places in town that *don't specialize in pizza do it so much better that I don't see any reason to make a point to stop here. Students seem to love it, as students are usually the ones packing the place but it's downtown location could also have something to do with it.
Not the worst pizza in the world, not a great experience waiting over 20 minutes for a tiny thin crust that costs substantially more than the frozen pizzas it compares with either. To be fair, it's a step above a frozen pizzas as you would hope with all the pizza ovens back there but its not quite on the same level of pizza pizza even.
2 stars for the...
Read moreThis is my review of the Score Pizza through Uber Eats. Menu options are cut very short and prices are increased if you order this way
Though the pizza tastes very good, I will not likely return any time soon. I ordered two pizzas through Uber Eats and when it finally arrived cold, one of the pizzas was entirely wrong. Now depending on the restaurant, this could be Uber Eats' fault. But this wasn't the case here as Score Pizza wrote on the top, side, and inside the box my name and order number. They just simply put the wrong pizza inside.
I called The Score explaining the situation and the person on the phone apologized. They told me I can complain to Uber Eats for a refund or come to the restaurant and get a coupon. Well, I paid delivery so I didn't have to go all the way downtown myself so that seemed redundant. I easily managed to get a refund from Uber Eats. I then ordered once more giving them another chance since I really wanted to try it. After another long wait, I finally got the correct pizza.
Now after that annoying mistake, onto the pizza itself. The overall taste is very good but the crust is incredibly thin. Since the crust is so thin, it doesn't retain heat very well and it's guaranteed cold upon delivery unless you live directly around the corner from the restaurant. The pizza was 12" and very thin, so not the most filling in my opinion. Especially since the price was $14.50 per pizza! I'm sure they aren't the only one but they are the first I've personally seen to actually increase their prices on Uber Eats compared to ordering directly from the restaurant. I guess they're trying to offset some sort of fees but as a customer I just feel ripped off. I did in fact consider ordering directly from the restaurant but only found the option for pickup and no delivery.
In conclusion, the pizza taste is good but overpriced for the cold, small, thin pizza you end up getting. I would only return if I happened to walk by one day downtown but never again...
