I visited thyme kitchen for their vegan brunch on good friday. (I have never been to this restaurant before so I wasn't sure what to expect.)
I was blown away!!!!
They served a veriety of vegan foods from comfort foods like pasta, fish and chips to all sorts of very healthy foods like chia pudding salad and LOTS of incredible fruit. Usually I expect buffets to have under ripe fruit but they got it spot on. The watermelon was juicy and sweet and the pineapple was perfect as well! The one thing that surprised me the most were the matcha crepes. I haven't had crepes since going vegan. I do cook a lot on my own and convert a lot of recipes, but honestly I never got around to crepes. One thing with anything Matcha flavoured though is getting the right balance. I was a bit apprehensive to try them because of the many times I have been given things eith WAY too much matcha. These were divine!
I tried a little bit of everything and all of it was really great. All were well cooked and spiced, the chefs certainly know what they are doing. I visit many vegan restaurants in toronto, and Thyme kitchens vegan food during this brunch certainly competes.
They host vegan nights once a month, so I would expect that they would be just as amazing.
The staff here are very friendly and were very helpful to us. They answered all of our questions as well as guided us through the food explaining every dish.
Thyme kitchen has a great atmosphere, with very nice decor that makes the space feel very comfortable and welcoming.
I get that maybe Windsor doesn't have the same kind of demographic as Toronto, but I hope that things turn around and hopefully Thyme kitchen could be sustainable as a full vegan restaurant!
I will definitly be letting all my friends and family know about Thyme Kitchen's...
Read moreAs I laid in bed pondering the mysteries of life, like why the bride's grandfather and I decided to empty the bar of strawberry daiquiris last night, I was rudely awoken by a glaring companion. Apparently, I was supposed to be up bright and early for a picturesque waterfront stroll in the sweltering Canadian summer heat. Instead, we ended up at Thyme Kitchen for breakfast, a place recommended by some blurry memory from the night before.
Stepping into the cool embrace of air-conditioning, we were quickly seated at a quiet table with the magical disappearing and reappearing water jug. Our waitress appeared taking our drink order, I settled for water while my companion opted for an Iced Latte, slightly less annoyed at my tardiness now that we were in the air-conditioned bliss.
After perusing the menu, we both settled on eggs benedict with our own unique twists. I went for a BLT-inspired version with thick bacon, tomato, and lettuce, while she chose the smoked salmon eggs benedict that looked just as tempting. We chatted and lingered over our meal, turning breakfast into a leisurely brunch.
Thyme Kitchen turned out to be a delightful breakfast spot with a variety of options, friendly service, and delicious food. I'd definitely come back if I weren't skipping town tomorrow at the...
Read moreI recently attended the Annual Harvest dinner at the Willistead Manor which was catered by Thyme Kitchen.
Our experience could not have been better. The staff were so attentive and kind to my family and went out of their way to share interesting facts about the manor. They had smiling faces throughout the entire night and continuously checked in on us.
The live music was a beautiful touch by two extremely talented artists. They added so much to the atmosphere.
And last but certainly not least… the food. I would describe myself as a foodie and I know good food when I taste it. The flavour combinations and seasonal flares were absolutely mind blowing. There was not one item that I was not excited to try— and not one item disappointed me! The attention to detail was fabulous and listening to the excitement and passion of the young chef explain her creations to us was absolutely inspiring.
Thank you Thyme for the wonderful event! I look forward to attending any and all events hosted by Thyme...
