If you’re anywhere near Windsor, Victoria Salvadoran Restaurant is an absolute gem you cannot miss. I am from Detroit, and as soon as I opened the door, the warm aroma of freshly grilled seafood, slow-cooked beans, and handmade pupusas hit me. it was like stepping straight into the heart of El Salvador and Mexico all at once.
We started with their famous pupusas, hot off the griddle, oozing with cheese and served with tangy curtido. Then came the shrimp tacos perfectly seasoned, nestled in soft tortillas, paired with a creamy house sauce, earthy black beans, and Salvadoran rice so flavorful it could be a meal on its own. The fried seafood platter was next level crispy, golden, and brimming with flavour, like something you’d get beachside in Central America. And don’t skip the cheese empanadas! sweet, airy little pockets of heaven.
What makes Victoria even more special is Hosay, the owner. He personally checked on our table, very kind and kept the heaven on his plates coming and making sure everything was perfect. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a customer.
Victoria is a low key, chill spot, but the food is bold, authentic, and unforgettable. Whether you’re a casual diner or a true foodie, this place is the real deal. Trust me, once you’ve been, you’ll already be planning...

The whole place looked clean and inviting. Lots of space at the tables, no worries about tiny little spaces to eat. Everyone there was super nice, and excellent at what they do. Prices are absolutely fair.
The food though. Gods. I tried the papusas and they were pretty good! Would probably only need a couple to be satisfied. I ordered those to go, and they rewarmed nice in the oven and made for a great dinner. I had lunch earlier the same day, and had the Tacos Al Pastor. I totally dig corn tortillas, and the flavour on these things is just delightful. I was happy with the portion, amazed by the flavour, and pleased with the presentation! I'm told they have birria as well, and now I just have to go back to try that out. I am looking forward to returning though. I am confident it's going to be excellent...
