The General Manager/Owner/Kitchen Manager whoever was running this business is horrible at there job which spoke to us about Brushetta having lime to cut the "Raw" Garlic taste is absolutely full of himself. Especially when Brushetta is suppose to have no lime juice in it and raw garlic. It's a simple recipe Roma Tomatoes, roasted garlic, red onion, basil, olive oil from the roasted garlic and salt and pepper! Hello it all tastes like Raw Garlic when your suppose to be able to taste every individual flavor hence why roasted garlic is better it balances the Brushetta your never suppose to put lime in a Brushetta its meant more for a Pico de Gallo! You can tell this guy has no chef school training and just thinks he knows how foods mixes and matches. I dont get how he gives me a handshake and says have a goodnight is professional by any means with that being said this guy can not take any destructive criticism especially when I can go pay for less money elsewhere a.k.a 1 eyed Jack's and have everything better than what I had tonight. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for any of this night especially with overcooked Calamari and fishy taste usually this is due to portioned Calamari sitting in a container for too long in its own liquid orr hmmm how many days old is this Calamari..?? DO they check for smell and probably no day dots or proper end of night closing with rotation of F.I.F.O. I complained about my steak being Rare got a remake with Asparagus and not green beans which was not discussed with me and I dont like Asparagus. Overall will not be coming back to this as I can go to a Bar and grill and have a better food experience and overall better service.
P.s. I never had 1 refill for just a water its unbelieveable and this Owner/Kitchen Manager/ General Manager just says at least you get served a water right away but that's not the point when your thirsty and nothing gets brought too you. Legend of never coming back to this place. Literally my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary thinking this will be amazing and nope...We were the only people in the restaurant so there's no excuse for any of this if your paying top dollar. He tells us to come back but why would I when u literally don't want any criticism thinks shaking your hand is a sign of thank you when really he didn't want to listen to anything said. Will not come back and will not...
Read moreMy birthday dinner was not a special one. Turning 25 and had the worst service I've ever had. Should've just went to The Keg.
The manager seemed nice after a bone was found in my friends food that cut her tongue, however, the attitude from our server / bartender was so unprofessional.
The manager dealt with the mishap well, very professional.
While my friends did arrive very late, it wasn't as if we sat around and just took up space in the meantime, we order an app and drinks before they arrived. There were 2 other tables occupied last night, so they weren't busy.
The server had made a comment about us not being ready to order when my late-arriving friends had been sat down for less than 10 minutes. It was a passive aggressive comment asking us if we'd 'be ready to order within the next 2 hours'... She also didn't provide them with water until after their food was served.
It seemed as if there was no tolerance for unexpected happenings, like traffic or trying to find parking when streets are closed for festivals. None of us were familiar with Downtown Oshawa and didn't expect so many road closures.
The drinks were very unbalanced, I didn't send mine back even though it was VERY sweet and one of my friends had issues with her drinks both times - we didnt end up finishing our drinks. Overall, it was clear that we weren't welcomed and none of us will be returning or recommending this establishment to our friends and family. We should've left as soon as we heard the servers comment, but wanted to see if it'd be worth sticking around... Shouldn't have.
The Arancini was good. The risotto was had some undercooked...
Read moreVisited for the first time on Saturday Nov. 28th for my boyfriend's birthday. We made a reservation ahead of time and were impressed with the COVID-19 precautions they were taking in the restaurant - we felt safe. I ordered the Prime Rib (my fav) and my boyfriend had the Steak and Lobster. We ordered the calamari and arancini balls for starters. All of the food was great!! The bread at the table is a really nice touch but would have been great to have olive oil and balsamic. Nice atmosphere and super friendly staff! Why I gave 4 starts is because there is some room for improvement. I know the restaurant is operating in unprecedented times, but I think these are some easy fixes. We waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. After being greeted, we weren't asked about our reservation (so why make one?). I think for a nice steakhouse, there should be attire standards - there were patrons in the restaurant wearing sweatpants and slippers. Comparing my experience to The Keg, they should ask if you've ever been to Fazio's before - its a great talking starter point and it allows you to cover the important details (like where the bathroom is). They should leave the drink menu on the table - I didn't order a second because I couldn't read what they offer and for how little the server comes to the table (due to COVID) it wasn't worth asking. Last fix that is not too easy (or cheap) is to replace the front door....we actually walked the length of the restaurant looking for the entrance because its not overly obvious. For a nice restaurant, the door should look a little nicer too and maybe...
