The food is OK, the prices are fair, but one inconvenience with this place is that they don't take credit cards and the first time I was there I had to find that out at the cash register because there were no visible signs advising the customers.
However, the fundamental problem with this place is that the customer service is awful. Any time I go there to get takeout there is no one at the cash register and you have to wait at least several minutes until you get some service.
What pushed me over the edge with this place was my experience today. I was there to get takeout and was waiting to order, but there was no one at the cash register/counter as usual. After waiting for a few minutes another customer walked in. Shortly after that the waitress showed up and took the other customer's order first even though I was waiting there for a while before that customer showed. The waitress didn't even bother checking to see whose turn it is or who is the next customer. When the waitress took my order she did not smile and she was not warm or welcoming or anything. She had a total Buster Keaton look.
After I got my food, and as I was paying for it, I brought this issue of people cutting in line and the staff not paying attention to the waitress's attention. She frowned even more and didn't even say sorry or show any kind of concern or respect or emotion and was very defensive and handled it very unprofessionally.
My total was $11.85 and I gave her $12. When she gave me back my change, she gave me $1.15 back and I told her that she gave me too much and gave her the $1 back and left in disappointment with the awful service.
This place clearly seems to be run by a bunch of uneducated primitive people that don't know anything about customer service and keeping the customer happy.
These people will never comprehend what Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart said which is: "There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money...
Read moreMy wife and I have been wanting to come here for ages. We always heard about how good it was here and we were excited. We decided to have brunch today and we left a little disappointed. The raving reviews didn't match what we experienced.
Firstly, the waitress we had was very cold. Listen I know we all have rough days and maybe she did to, so I'll let it slide but it wasn't that happy friendly service we heard about. Not once did she return to ask us how the food was or if I wanted an additional coffee. I had to stop another waitress and ask for a refill.
We ordered the Philly Cheese for my wife and the eggs Benedict with peameal for myself.
The Philly was okay, I tasted it, didn't have a lot of flavor but it did taste fresh. A bit more seasoning would've been nice.
Now my eggs Benedict with peameal bacon. The peameal was delicious but my eggs were over poached. There was literally no yolk. She didn't even ask me how I wanted it but how do you serve an over cooked poached egg? I like to have my runny yolk and a soft poached egg is what I expect on a Benny. Our waitress was nowhere to be found for me to inquire about the eggs. The potatoes were also under seasoned and under cooked.
Anyhow, nobody came up to us so I stood at the cash for 5 minutes to pay. I gave the 20% tip because I do know it is not an easy job serving people and I am grateful to be able to even sit down and have brunch with my wife while people starve and are suffering. Some advice though, please do better and check in our guests and ask us how the first few bites are. I want to be honest with you but I can't if you never come and ask, so I have to write this review.
Maybe it was a bad day at the office and I get that , but after having amazing experiences elsewhere, I don't know if I will return here to give it a shot again.
Good luck and hopefully...

The White Apron Restaurant holds a special place in my heart, & it has consistently been a favourite of mine every time I revisit Oshawa. Introduced by a friend in 2019, this culinary haven has never failed to impress.
One of the standout features for me is their dedication to accommodating dietary preferences. The fact that they offer gluten-free toast & French toast is a game-changer, especially for someone like me who is celiacs. It's a rare find & adds an extra layer of love for this spot.
The food itself is nothing short of delicious, & the portion sizes are generous. Many of the meals are so hearty that they can easily be shared, making it a perfect spot for a communal dining experience.
The staff at The White Apron are the true gems. Their super-friendly, helpful, & kind demeanour adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere. It's evident that they are passionate about what they do, & their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience is truly commendable.
Now, let's address the only minor hiccup—the parking situation. Being located downtown, parking can be a bit tricky, but it's by no means unmanageable. The inconvenience is a small price to pay for the culinary delights that await inside.
In conclusion, The White Apron Restaurant is a true gem in Oshawa, & my personal favourite. The dedication to accommodating various dietary needs, coupled with delicious food & exceptional staff, makes it a must-visit. The parking challenge is a minor detail compared to the overall joy this restaurant brings. Highly...
