I just ordered food from Lucky Cho for the first and last time today. For a value of almost $50, the portions were decent, but the quality of the food was subpar. In fact, it was so bad that I feel that I must go through the list of items and describe the experience of eating them individually.
The absolutely worst Chinese food ever, and I've lived all over the world and tried all kinds of food but I have just wasted $70 on a night I didn't want to cook for my family, because I still ended up having to cook it over and Remix it. I had to strain the Singapore noodles and add meat to it since it had a dry rub poured into thw noodles with a strong flavor that isn't curry, nor consistent with Singapore noodles. The meat was supposed to be chicken, and I don't know who they think they're fooling, it was some dumplin or flour or cornstarch around a tiny piece of chicken from perhaps a thigh or drumstick, and I get that the economy is bad and people trying to cut costs, but it's gonna be at the cost of risking having to close cause the food tastes horrible. The texture was like soggy bread what they called chicken. Then was the beef and broccoli.. one small handful of beef hidden under and scattered through about a pound of broccoli. Smh. Then the chicken fried rice, again same meat substitute and no veggies. I ha to re-cook that as well with some frozen veggies added. For that price they could have bought a bag of frozen veggies for less than $5 and even added a handful if they wanted to skimp!
I want to go to the actual restaurant and get my money back... I'll update my review when I find out what the possibility and the answer is for those of you who are sorely disappointed.
People work hard for their money and when they want to treat themselves on a weekend and then get very sa because dinner has to take another hour to either re-cook or re-order from elsewhere, it is only fair they get some compensation for their time and money. When you pay for a product you...
Ā Ā Ā Read morethis is the first time Iām writing a review of the food for a restaurant because I was so disappointed. Some of these reviews are glowing and I was so excited to try the food and had such high expectations. I can honestly say this is the WORST Chinese food Iāve had.
Iāve tried many restaurants over the years and being from Toronto, I know my Hakka/Chinese food. Iāve tried other restaurants in the Oshawa/Whitby area as well so Iām not basing this off of one try.
My mother and I got the dinner for 2 which is pretty standard with two spring rolls, a chicken fried rice, two entrees, two cans of pop and fortune cookies.
We got kung pao chicken and chilli chicken for the entrees. Chilli chicken is my favourite dish and I get it every single time I order hakka food. I could cry with how bad this food was. I couldnāt even tell what dishes I ordered because the taste was so off!! An odd flavour and little to no spice, sweet for some reason??? The rice was super dry and had barely anything in it also barely any chicken in the entrees and packed with vegetables. Seriously the worst.
Honestly donāt bother trying this place and I donāt know what these people are on saying that this restaurant is good yāall have to be lying or trying to help them get business (which they donāt deserve)
Instead try Fine Taste Hakka or The Zen and be happy with your food. Iāve tried both of these places several times and they do not disappoint especially Fine Taste.
Never ordering from Unlucky Cho ever...
