Kings Crown Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Oshawa

One star because I couldn’t give it a ZERO! The owner was rude and obviously doesn’t care about keeping customers. I will spread the word about this restaurant and hope others see this review.

• EDIT In response to the owners reply. We came in from the cold to have a hot meal and a warm beverage prior to seeing a show at the theatre up the street. We ordered coffee to which we were told we couldn’t have because you didn’t have milk or cream. I asked if you could send a staff member to pop out and get some, an action in which you denied. Ok, strike number 1. We saw on the menu that you offer a soup of the day, after enquiring about it we were told that it’s not an option. Then why is it on your menu? Ok, not a great start, strike number 2. Being the only 2 patrons in your establishment, we should have known the outcome, that was our mistake. You as the owner should know what it means to keep a customer happy. You are a very rude man and have zero respect. That is strike number 3. I’m glad you responded, it gave me a chance for a rebuttal. I hope you’ve learned something from this. Be nicer to your customers, kindness...

The food is good, but without flair. Had the brisket. Bun was crunchy, meat was tender. Fries crunchy. Service on the other hand was terrible. Waitress saw us but served other tables first. Hostess mentioned getting us menus 3 times, but got distracted. We finally had to go get them ourselves. Food took an hour to arrive and even then, one order was forgotten. ( burgers, poutine, sandwiches and chicken wings). They also forgot cutlery, napkins, condiments. We had to get it ourselves or prompt them for it. Paying the bill took forever as well because the waitress had to run back and forth to figure out the bill. If management reads this please take note: please check the events in your area to know when crowds can arrive - you were obviously under-staffed. Train your staff to treat guests according to the order they arrive. Better yet- hire staff that are trained in hospitality. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the bad service - which either means your staff does not care or they do not know basic...

Wonderful restaraunt.

My fiance and I started with a poutine to share and it was fantastic. Pretty much the best fries, easily comparable to 5 guys but better.

The lady thoroughly enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and Caesar salad.

I ordered the triple meat sandwich, I thought that I would be able to conquer this monster, but alas, I sit defeated beside half of it staring back at me.

Pros: lots of meat, and a perfect meat to bun ratio. (it matters ok)

Cons: in my opinion the gravy kind of throws off the taste of their home sauce. Not bad, it just competes for the tastebuds in your mouth. I wish it was served with more sauce as you have more meat to make up for it.

I would say I paid for what I expected. And it was a lovely experience. Not a first date place unless you plan on getting messy, but if you're a couple and comfortable with that kind of thing, I can recommend this as a sweet...
