Family of four dined last night around 8pm after a full day of lacrosse. Great atmosphere. We had the pleasure to be served by Stephanie. Service was superb- she brought a full pitcher of water (with lemons) for my husband and daughter after hearing that they were parched from the heat of the arena. She was extremely friendly, accommodating, prompt with drinks, and just easy going. Food portions were huge. My kids loved the perogie appetizer (so much so that their kids meals were left uneaten). My husband and I split the chili nachos. So many toppings and a huge portion. Suffice it to say, we left with many take out boxes. I truly hope that Wendel Clark's Head Office acknowledges the exceptional service and food quality. Too often staff only hear about negative reviews. Please, do yourself a favour and complement Stephanie and the kitchen staff! Stephanie was also the only server for the entire evening and she was on point! Looking forward to returning again!

For a Canadian, for a Canadian hockey fan especially, there are some obvious reasons to go to Wendel Clark's Classic Grill & Bar. On the walls you'll see pictures of hockey players and hockey action; of course Wendel is featured prominently. They also have food and drink, with interesting selections in both categories. I choose the "Breakaway" Turkey Burger, and, borrowing from the hockey lexicon, it was of championship calibre. The patty was exceptional; juicy and tasty (which is what nudged the final score on food to a "5"). The fries were fine. Due to it being a busy night I was seated at the spacious bar. My server, doing double duty as a Bar Tender was very much up to the task. You don't have to be a sports fan to like Wendel's, the food will do that on its own; but the environment will capture your attention more if you are.

The free parking is a nice touch. The food is hit or miss, the wings were bland and the quality of meat was questionable, the chicken fingers were fine, nothing to write home about but fine. The chicken wrap was really great, the crispy kettle chip coating was awesome and the sauce on the wrap was delicious. The fries were good. The price was standard for pub fare but there is better pub fare to be had close by. The service was good considering the poor girls that were working were running like chickens with their heads cut off, management should look at getting more help. Overall, glad we tried it but probably won’t be back.

Probably the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in Oshawa, I very rarely review restaurants but thought the general public should actually know about this. I arrived in a party of 5 on Saturday night around 7pm. We walked in and the mostly empty restaurant was filled with smoke, which when I mentioned to the waitress she said shrugged and said they had just turned the grills on. My contacts were literally drying up on my eyeballs and I could feel the smoke effecting my asthma, I have worked in kitchens for many years and I can tell you there had been some kind of fire or flame. We place our drink orders (I also ordered a water which I never received throughout the duration of the evening), and when she returns with our drinks we place our appetizer and dinner orders. This is probably around 715pm. As we begin approaching the hour mark, and our waitress comes to check on us (we have had two rounds at the table by this time), I said "I just wanted to check on our appetizers" she said "oh, they are coming right up". We had fairly simple appetizers, 3 of which were deep fried and one goat cheese loaf. We finally receive our appetizers, which were good. My friend and I get up to use the bathroom, leaving our fiances and friend at the table and upon our return (now we are approaching 8:45) we walk up to the table and our waitress informs us that we will not be getting dinner. I asked for an explanation, and she said that the kitchen has run out of food. I could not understand why it took an hour and 45 minutes after "placing" the order for this to be brought to our attention. A party of 8-10 was behind us, I said what are you going to do about them and she said they are being turned away. I asked how we will be compensated for this, as we were now all starving. She said that they would take our information and that we would receive an email with some kind of discount for our next visit. I said no, that will not work as why would we ever return. She said well that is what we are offering. I said go talk to your manager, I am not accepting that. The end result was she came back and said we would receive 50% off our appetizers, which is hardly an attempt at rectifying the experience of dealing with this disorganized and unprofessional mess for 2 hours only to be told we wont even be eating. The waitress returns with our bills, at which point I notice that the discount wasn't even on the bills. She had to go reprint them. Just an overall bumbled service and the terrible experience was completely mishandled by management. Will never return and will share...

Really good food, REALLY terrible service. My family and I were there for well over an hour to have lunch at 3pm and there was only two other tables of people in the restaurant. They bright it drinks that all had a funny soapy taste to them. I had specifically ordered my club sandwich with all dressings on the side and that's not how it came and I chose not to have them remake it cause it had taken more than half an hour the first time as I didn't want to wait. Thru bright us be drinks in goats that they rinsed by hand a second time and they were much better but now without a meal I didn't really need mine. It bill came and we had still been charged for everything. I called my waitress three times but she just kept walking so I got up and went to the bar and spoke to a manager, told her about the entire long, goodness, soapy drink visit and all she does of take my lunch they I never ate off the bill. I then tell her that I am at the very least not paying for my drink either as it was sitting full on the table still and I didn't drink the first soapy inner either and she proceeds to tell me that they've had someone out to look at the dishwasher twice now and are still having problems with it!! Lmao!! Seriously!? Finally they took $25 off my bill which was only the cost of the lunch they I never took a bite of, the drink I never took a sip of, and the two drinks of the people I was with that had both originally been sent back as well. The food we are was fantastic but the slow, poor customer service was bad enough that I won't...

I have been here a couple times before comedy shows. But last night had to be the worse experience I have ever encountered here to the point I won’t be returning for food or drink again. The services was insanely horrible, there was a table across from me a single mother and two kids she had to get up in order to get cutlery to eat her meal, they dropped off 10 minutes prior. The table waited 30 plus minutes to get their bill. Either way that added to my experience. Our server just never returned to the table. We were seeing a comedy show she was aware of this and decided to not return to the table to take our orders. I had to get up pay for the bill and food in order to make the show on time. I saw the server while I was paying and her response to me was “I am busy” for the reasoning of her not returning to take our meal orders. The kicker to it she was severing the comedy show as well. The owner of this restaurant needs to revaluate how to run a comedy club and restaurant. First step don’t serve food to the comedy club (drinks only) comedians hate the sound of plates and servers talking over their bits. Also put less seats in the shows the audience will be more likely to return. I however will...
