Used to love going here until recent months. About a month or two ago I ate here with some friends, had their wings, came home and got sick on the toilet a couple of times but didn't think much of it. Last week I was there and had their wings again. I must have been exposed to more of whatever bacteria is in the wings this time because I have had food poisoning a total of four times in my life, and this was one of the worst times. It's been over 3 days now since I had the spoiled food and I still feel too sick and fatigued to leave home much. When I brought this up to other friends, some of them said to me "Oh yeah, I've had food poisoning from there before too". Needless to say, we won't be eating here at all anymore. Used to love going for the pickled Caesar too, but I don't like my caesars super spicy and they don't even have regular Clamato juice right now. They only have the spicy bean version so there was one time I sent my caeser back because I asked for no tabasco, then the waitress brings me the same tasting caeser again. My friend was just going to drink it for me because I didn't want it but the waitress said "Oh no we have to dump it" which we all found strange. Finally the next time I was in I asked what was up with that and the same server explained that they don't have regular Clamato, so she said she could dilute it with tomato juice instead. Okay, why didn't you say that the first time then when you brought me two caesars that I didn't like? This same dark-haired server also gives so many pet names "honey, sweetie" it's too much and makes everyone uncomfortable. So I wish I could say I'd still come for the drinks sometimes, but I won't even be doing that until they learn how to make drinks via the customer's request properly. Don't eat here unless you want to be sick in the bathroom...
Read moreJune 2024: The atmosphere was good, quiet when we showed up for a late lunch/early supper.
My spouse enjoyed the skirt burger and kept raving about weeks later.
I had a bacon weave burger which was good with v chips but not very impressed by their dip which I never knew was an additional cost.
My friend had a lettuce wrapped bacon weave burger with the v chips and also had the same impression on the dip.
All very tasty and enjoyable, besides their dip for the v chips.
The service was ok but wished we got more water when we needed it versus later in our meal. Otherwise they were attentive enough given the amount of people who were in the air conditioned dining room on a warm sunny day.
May 2025: Had to come back for my spouse's birthday to get what he was so looking forward to...the skirt burger with garlic fries. It did not disappoint for him. I had the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with a green salad.
Some of our other friends had soup, assorted flavours of wings, glacial mass burger, garlic fries, a few other types of burgers (one was a featured burger).
Service was great until they got my meal. Everyone got theirs to eat while I had to wait for mine to be prepared again, since mine was given to another table by mistake due to a new staff members. To their offense, we were a larger group so I can't really blame them too much they did get 10 out of 11 meals out at about the same time... It could be a lot worse, where I have seen it happen at other restaurants. But it really should never happen at all that one does not get to eat with the rest of the party. Thank goodness I had wings before my entire party showed up for the meal.
The drinks keep flowing and pitchers of water are left on the table for us to keep hydrated...
Read moreMy partner and I have always loved Birmingham’s and have gone there regularly for years. We are expecting a baby any day now, so last weekend we thought we’d go watch a big NHL playoff game there as a last opportunity to go out together before Baby arrives. We showed up early so we would have a comfortable booth to watch the game from.
Everything was fine until the start of the second period. A bachelorette party showed up and put up helium balloons blocking the TV we were watching. We asked the women to move the balloons over but they ignored us. The manager asked them to move the balloons over and they refused.
The manager’s solution to this was to move my partner and I to a back room to watch the game by ourselves. We were halfway through our meals at this point and were frankly offended that we were being asked to move when other people were causing a problem which could have been solved by moving balloons over two feet. Besides, if we’d wanted to watch the game by ourselves, we would have stayed home.
We declined to move, paid our bill, and left. There was no offer to take anything off the bill or anything like that.
We called later and left a message for the owner to call us, explaining the situation. It’s been five days and we have not received a call.
After that experience we will not be back. It’s sad because until now Birmingham’s has been our...
