I love Purdy’s, whether it’s for their chocolate or their ice cream, but the service I received today was shockingly rude.
Went to redeem their recent promo for reconnect roulette, and it took a while for any worker to address us, even though we were standing by the counter and they all were just chatting amongst one another. Finally my mother tried to grab one’s attention and the worker’s attitude was very flippant (Looked filipino, older, not of student age). We went to redeem a code for both myself and my mother, and when I showed both since I have access to both our email accounts, he said “Why?” in the most condescending, judgemental tone. While I tried to explain that I have access to her email because she’s an immigrant who isn’t comfortable with her english so I help her translate them, all he did was laugh to himself and leave to chat with the other workers while I was still talking.
Super disappointing to see this behaviour. Not only was it not their business to ask why, but also the disrespectful tone and attitude made it uncomfortable to be in the store.
Would go to Purdy’s again, just probably not this location and definitely not with...
Read moreThe gentleman that was working at the Richmond Centre Purdys location on Dec 18 at around 10:30am was rude and unhelpful. I witnessed him berate the customer in front of me after she requested a simple Purdys gift tag/card to go with her chocolate purchase. He kept saying Purdys did not have ‘tags’ but after she insisted multiple times they did, he finally relented and threw in a couple of Purdys cards in her bag. The customer was kind enough to thank him, even though those would not be the words I would have used. When it was finally my turn, he seem to careless what I wanted and continued to fold some sort of paper sleeve or boxes while I asked if they carried the yeti marshmallow bars. He barely looked up at me and curtly replied, no. That was it…no follow up of when new stock might arrive or if they even carry them. Next time, I will go straight to a Vancouver location to make my chocolate purchases or maybe try a different chocolatiers all together if Purdys continues to hire workers that don’t care about...
Read moreThe first time we had the cone supreme was at Tsawwassen Mills. They dipped the cone in melted chocolate first, then scooped the ice cream, dipped in more chocolate then covered it with nuts. It was AMAZING. We ordered them a few times at the Richmond Centre location after the Tsawwassen Mills experience but they just didn't make it the same (not as good: dipped in chocolate after they scooped the ice cream and the thing was falling apart) and they were never as delicious. Last night we ordered another one and Jon and Chris who served us before remembered us and our 'instructions' (based on how they do it at Tsawwassen Mills) and prepared it the way we first tried it and it was so good. Jon also told us that with the cone supreme, we got two scoops for the price of one so double yay. Thank you to Jon and Chris for their super friendly service, and willingness to accommodate our order. Great job! We will be back soon and hope to be helped by Jon or...
