Well recommended by both locals and Yelp though was The Odd Couple, an Asian Fusion place a nice 15 minute walk from my downtown hotel -- just enough to work up an appetite. I started with the Vietnamese Spring Rolls as my appetizer. These were four meaty and filling pork-based spring rolls. For a couple sharing this is a perfect appetizer. For me, it was a bit too much. But it was tasty and filling, and I can see why it's a popular choice. The fresh cucumber slices were a nice light contrast to the heaviness of the spring rolls. There were a number of very interesting main options. I considered the Thai Chicken Strips and the Kung Pao Chicken 2 Ways, but in the end I went with my rule of ordering something it would be hard for me to make myself at home. That meant the Beef Tenderloin + Mango Slaw, described on the menu as Canadian Tenderloin (7oz) Wok-Fry with Thai Basil, Garlic and Thai Chilli Soy Sauce. Topped with Kaffir Lime Leaves. Mango, Jalapeño, Cilantro, House Mango Cucumber Salsa. Served with Coconut Rice. The rice was served in a side bowl and didn't make the shot but trust me, its there. The beef was indeed tender and very flavourful, and I enjoyed the coconut rice. I love mango and the mango slaw was a big draw for this dish. It didn't mix well though, I think serving it on the side was the right call. All in all, I walked back to my hotel unable to eat another bite and slept well my first night on the prairie. Would recommend for your next Saskatoon visit.

I have finally come to visit this place and may I tell you... It's definitely a favorite of mine and I'll surely be coming back! When me and my friends first arrived they were pretty booked and had only had room at the bar, but right before we were about to leave and go somewhere else she stopped us and said she'll see what else she can do and about three minutes later we had a table to sit at. The service was excellent, they had originally given us vegan spring rolls when we had asked for just the Vietnamese rolls and we did not notice until we had eaten most of our plate so we asked them and they had apologized for the mistake, we told them we had enjoyed it anyways and we're glad to try something new but the server kindly brougt one out to the table for me as a gesturr with no charge cause they had noticed I was the only one a little sad about not getting the meat in my spring roll. That just made my night! The atmosphere and ambiance was very lively and inviting. the food was so delicious and very filling. I had a great experience here with my friends and definitely recommend going here if your in Saskatoon!

I really like this place. The service is excellent, the food is very creative, and it tastes good. The prices are very reasonable. Vegan Spring Rolls ($13): The spring rolls are delicious, but a bit over-fried, making them a bit hard and difficult to bite. I believe this is not a frequent issue. Kung Pao Chicken 2 Ways ($24.5): Made with chicken breast, which is very tender and juicy, not dry at all. However, it’s not very flavorful on its own. Fortunately, the sauce is strong enough, making the Kung Pao Chicken very tasty and perfect with rice. Beef Tenderloin + Coconut Rice ($38): The quality of the beef is good, well-marinated, and flavorful. Unlike typical Western-style steaks, this one is well-done but still very tender. Paired with coconut rice, it’s highly recommended. The addition of a refreshing apple salad makes it very creative.

I was lucky enough to wander in here on a Saturday, during their brunch menu. I was greeted and seated promptly, and the service was excellent, prompt and professional! The food was... transcendent! I had the Kung Pao chicken waffle, and I will say, if you can only eat ONE MORE THING before you die, make it this! The sauce was absolutely amazing, it tasted like more and more... I had to STRONGLY resist the urge to order a second plate for “dessert”... but that might have been the effects of the “Ginger Ninja” that my server recommended! Some strong bar-fu going on there. Strong. It was flavorful and gingery, delivering a strike without my noticing, in true ninja style. Odd Couple is a truly one of a kind place, and I wish it was in MY hometown! You’re lucky Saskatoon, and I will be here every time I’m in town!

Wow! Saskatoon brings Asian fusion to life at Odd Couple. I had read reviews in a few top 100 lists in Canada and this humble restaurant did not disappoint. I don't often say this....but this may be the best Asian fusion restaurant I've ever been too including many of the top dining establishments in Vancouver. The food is fresh and the flavors are genuinely Asian but subtle. The cooking allows the natural flavors of the actual food to come through. The variety of dishes was wonderful. And the presentation was beautifully clean. The service was super friendly from all of the staff. They had time to converse and provide incredible recommendations. The space has a super charged vibe. A tiny cozy space but they make good use of their area. All around five stars. I was super impressed! 5 x 🥣🥣🥣🥣🥣

My husband and I stopped here for dinner during our short stay in the area. We made a reservation on OpenTable, which ended up not being necessary because it wasn't terribly busy on a Tuesday night. The menu includes a variety of options, including vegan choices, as well as a five-course tasting menu ($98 for 2 people). We ordered the vegan spring rolls, tomato pad thai, and pork thai basil stiry-fry with pork loin, along with two cocktails. The spring rolls were absolutely delicious, as was the pork thai basil stir-fry; the pad thai was good, but my spice-loving husband was looking for a bit more heat. The cocktails were tasty and a bit unexpected. Our server, Macy, was friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome. All in all, this was a great find, and we would come back.
