My partner & I travel a fair amount, always trying new sushi places, but few have held a flame to the sushi & ramen from Sushi Raku (and that’s GLOBALLY). To have such a treasure in Saskatoon is something special 🥲🍣. We live in the neighbourhood, and have dined here countless times — so many times, in fact, that it’s almost criminal that it has taken me THIS long to give these folks the big 5 stars that they deserve. So the question isn’t, “What have you tried that you’ve liked at Sushi Raku?” The true question is, “What haven’t I tried?!” 🤭 This is what keeps us coming back over and over again. Whenever we want to go for a FAST, great, sit down meal (and can dine for under $45-$50 for two people), we choose here 9/10 times. 🍜 Now - what ARE the repeat offenders that we get?: - Spicy Garlic Edamame 🔥 - Tako-Yaki 🐙 - Raku Orange 🍊 - Salmon Sashimi 🐟 - Avocado & Cucumber Roll 🥑 - Spicy Salmon Roll 🌶️ - Rainbow Roll 🌈 - Las Vegas Roll 🎰 - Raku Signature Roll (be warned - she’s thick) 🤘🏼 - Night Hunter Roll 🥷 - SK Roll 🌾 - Salmon Oshi 🤤 And our NEWEST favourite is their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen 🤯. We used to think another establishment had the best ramen in Saskatoon — we were wrong. This is the best in the city hands down. The staff here is amazing. Every time you walk in, the Sushi Chefs greet you, and always say goodbye when you leave. Coming here feels like coming home. Good food. Good people. Great time. 🥰. But takeout is also equally as good. So there are no excuses not to give this place a try. Love the Sushi Raku Team. ❤️

Came here for our 4th year anniversary and was very impressed. Great presentation and the food was amazing! First time to visit the restaurant and they did not disappoint. My wife and I ordered the Chicken Bento Box, Terry Katsu, BBQ Spicy Tuna Roll,Unagi Roll, and Crispy Salmon Roll. (Probably more than we needed) The BBQ Spicy Tuna Roll was my favourite as it actually had some kick with the Spicy side. The crispy salmon Roll was bigger than expected and probably need to eat each piece in two bites. (Still very delicious with the crispy skin). Unagi Roll had great flavour and all rolls were made well. Terry katsu had a unique flakey fish skin (super cool how light it was and looked like it was moving because how light it was) drizzled on top with the katsu sauce at the bottom of the plate that you can dip too. They place the pork katsu on a small rack so it's not swimming in the sauce and you can dip as you please. (Great idea) We were absolutely filled and would highly recommend this place. They run a top notch sushi restaurant with a great variety of items and good service! My wife and I will definitely return again.

The best Japanese food in Saskatoon. I have heat this place many tines fron friends, somehow I have not visit yet until today I get into the hidden spot taste a bit. We have ordered the Omakase (chef's choice) Sashimi, it is included 10 kinds of sashimi for couple pieces. This is the most impresive for us. Saskatoon can make this great taste and delicated sashimi plate. We both have our own donburi (stuff on the top of rice bowl). Mine is Salmon Ikura(salmon eggs) Donburi, one of my favourite. I wish next time i can try the Uni Don ( Sea urchin) I have ordered Negi Hamachi (yellow tail fish green onuons) Maki (Roll). I love the fatty and smooth texture in mouth. It is not comment on Saskatoon Japanese restaurants serve Hamachi. Well, if you are near by this spot in downtown Saskatoon, you shall not miss a chance to have the best Japanese food here.

We might have visited Sushi Raku on an off night but this was my third time giving this restaurant a chance and I'm not sure I'll be coming back.

Service was slow, and while it was evident a new server was being trained, and the host was doing her best to assist, it took nearly 15 minutes to be acknowledged at our table while two other people who were seated after us (and we had a reservation) had their orders taken. Mistakes happen but this set the tone for the rest of our experience.

A sushi restaurant running out of rice during a supper service is also concerning. The food was served nicely but lacked flavour. The miso soup was from a packet and had been prepared with chicken stock making it thin, hiding the miso flavor, and decidedly not vegetarian, which was off putting.

The space is far too open with tables all bordering one shared area. The restaurant has a layout very similar to the (now gone) Otowa on 2nd Ave and might want to invest in enclosed booths or something like that one did to divide diners as it is a loud restaurant and not ideal for an intimate meal.

Overall, there are much better Japanese restaurants in Saskatoon with tastier food, nicer decor, and better experiences to be had than here. I wish Sushi Raku luck but I feel changes should be made to elevate...

I use to love this place and I went every month until my last experience. I ordered salmon lover like I always do. and it was brought to me and I took half of bite out of it and it was pure spicy and I can’t do spice. So i had talked to the waiter and asked him like are you sure this is Salmon lover as I showed him the receipt from the last order I gotten when i was last there an even a picture that I took because I loved it so much. And I tried explaining to him it has never had spice to it and I would never order anything that would because I can’t do spice. He came back to me and said oh no this is what they’ve always done and I’m like sadly that’s not true As I once again explained to him what I’ve always gotten every time I come here, hence why I’ve kept the receipt because it was just easier to remember and give the waiter the receipt then look at the menu and figure out what I had ordered. At this point I was kind of just disappointed and very let down by a sushi place that I loved no longer is in the loving category. They didn’t even offer to make it new or to take it off the bill. Let alone an apology. So had to pay for food I never even ate or never...
