W O W. I've eaten a lot of sandwiches in my life.....
My brother in law recommended this place for me knowing my love of sandwiches and meat.
Order: Paulie special with hot sauce and American. Garlic aioli was added.
Customer service: minimal interaction, I ordered online. Very convenient and my sandwich was ready for me. Did not wait long at all. 5/5
Location: excellent for me. I workout at the good life across when I'm in Toronto. Obviously due to covid everything is closed but this may be one of my new post workout meal establishments when things get back to normal. 5/5
Value : a huge sandwich loaded with meat and cheese. This one has chicken and rib eye....it is not a cheap lunch but for what you're getting I think it is fantastic. For my fellow intermittent fasters and/or one meal a day practitioners, I highly recommend. You get a lot of macros taken care of with this sandwich. May be add a side, extra meat and you're set. 5/5
Taste: The most important category is taste. I was blown away by the flavor and spices used. Not your typical Philly cheesesteak when the housemade hot sauce is added. However, it is this unique factor that separates a standard Philly from an "illstyl3 philly." Throw in some garlic aioli and you have a winning combination. All the components exponentially enhances the sandwich to the apex of deliciousness.
I had the chicken and beef together. I should ask for extra onions and extra hot sauce next time but this very delicious. The bread is fresh and soft, a perfect canvas for soaking up the flavorful grease and sauces. The meat portion is generous, I can only imagine what extra meat would be. A perfect marriage to the evenly melted cheese. I was thoroughly impressed at how the cheese encapsulated the meat so that it was not messy at all. This man is a sandwich making genius. My new gold standard for warm steak sandwiches. Excellent job. 5/5
Overall: 5/5 I dont think there is anything left to say but don't take my word for it. Try it yourself. The only other thing I would suggest is since it is all take out atm, pair your sandwich with a beer. It...
Read moreMy husband and son have come here to get food. The sandwiches are always amazing and delicious. In fact, they order extras to bring home (because we live in Barrie) so that we can eat them later.
We always get the cheesesteak and it is beyond delicious. The portions are generous, everything is cooked perfectly, the bread is fresh and the cheese is super melty. This time my husband tried the Porchetta Hoagie as well and brought me home half.... My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We may have to make the drive down again this week because it was just that dang good.
The fries are out of this world. The seasonings and everything that the Chef uses have me craving them right this second. I would bet that I could even eat them cold and be satisfied, thats how dang delicious they are.
Reading the negative reviews and it seems like none of those people know what the heck they are talking about. Do not take those reviews into any consideration when visiting this place. They are plain old wrong.
Now, the small amount of people complaining about customer service in their reviews, must be out of their minds. The gentleman is not unkind at all. He is focused on his work, carefully crafting delicious food. Sometimes he can be a bit sarcastic, which I find to be hilarious and charming. He isn't here to be your best friend for goodness sake, I am sure he has enough of those. He wants to provide you with delicious food that he works hard to make, his job isn't to make Karen's feel cozy and warm. He seems to be a hardworking dude, and has never been anything but kind to us. Disregard those reviews, they mean nothing.
Can't wait to go back and get some more delicious food. Trust me, you want to try this place! Run, don't walk your butt here and grab some of the best food you will ever put in your mouth! You will...
Read moreThe guy making the sandwiches was pretty rude. The first in our group of 3 tries to order, the guy tells him to wait because he's busy grilling some mushrooms. He eventually takes the order, but ignores me and the third person in our group. He's really focused on what he's doing... we wait patiently. Occasionally he looks at us, I think he's about ready to tell me he's ready for us to order, but then he turns around and goes back to the grill. Some other people walk in, he seems to finish what he's doing, we ask if we can order and he snaps... "are you effing kidding me, why would you wait 15 mins while I'm making your friend's sandwich to order?" So awkward. How about asking the people who are standing at your counter what they'd like, instead of assuming they're just loitering?
To be fair, he did ask me what I'd like when I walked in but I said I needed a second to decide. Never acknowledged me again until my friend and I finally asked, when it looked like he was done with the other orders. When he flipped out, it was an easy decision to walk right out. I work in the immediate area - so many quality lunch spots within a block radius where the service is way more friendly and efficient. As good as those cheesesteaks looked, I can't justify spending money at a place where it's OK to treat customers like that. Hope the guy was just having a rough day, but judging by some of the other reviews this sounds like a recurring theme...
Edit (since you responded) - if I have to ask to get basic service, you're doing it wrong. Take a hint from others who have also felt mistreated by you, and try to be a bit more welcoming. It doesn't cost you anything, and it'll go a long way. Or just ignore the feedback and keep doing what you're doing....
