Though on the pricier side (which gelato tends to be), I regret nothing and would totally purchase more gelatos and sorbettos from Nani's! Honestly some of the most delicious sweet treats I've ever had and one of the most amazing parts of it is the smooth texture of their products, regardless of if it's water-based (for non-diary) or milk-based.

Here's my thoughts on the three pints I ordered via their online order form (super easy and intuitive to use) for a week that they planned for GTA delivery (yay to FREE delivery when you purchase 3+ pints!): BELGIAN COOKIE GELATO: rightfully earned the title of the most popular flavor of the 2019 season! I've never had any flavor quite like it so its uniqueness was definitely something that made me gravitate towards choosing it. The Lotus Biscoff cookies used to make this are finely blended into the milk-base (rather than chunks of biscuits crushed in) to give it an overall smooth finish. A little of a sweeter gelato but very addicting. MANGO LYCHEE SORBETTO: I'm a lover of these two fruits and this was definitely a beautiful blend of them both! Despite being incorporated together, you could distinctly pick out each flavor while tasting the sorbet. Such a refreshing choice that really packed a punch with its evident fruity notes. Water-based but so strong in flavor! CAFE MOCHA: This may seem like a "plain Jane" flavor since other companies also make this flavor but Nani's really knows how to make it their own. I was surprised that the sweetness of this gelato was more subtle, which I prefered. The real spotlight is given to the coffee notes which are strong and bold, similar to that of espresso. Truly a nice spin on a classic flavor.

All in all, a wonderful experience. Service was extremely friendly and they followed my delivery instruction requests to a tee. To ensure the the goods were received by the correct person, staff not only texted me but called as well. Really appreciate the thorough job they did! They just won themselves a new regular customer.

*UPDATE: JUNE 2021 as Google doesn't allow multiple reviews. Though I work DT, shift work makes it hard for me to be able to visit their storefront, so I'm so thankful that Parry hosts deliveries to the GTA so I can still get my fix for their ice cream and sorbettos! You get free delivery with 3 pints, but I couldn't chose so I got 5 pints! I picked 4 new flavors to try, and HAD TO get the Belgian Cookie again. PISTACHIO: A new addition to my list of favourites from Nani's Gelato. Incredibly creamy. Very nutty. Absolutely love the contrast in texture with the nuts, as well as the subtle saltiness it brings to balance out the flavors and sweetness level. This was done perfectly! THAI RED MILK TEA: They really hit it spot on with the flavor! As per the nature of thai milk tea, the notes are very strong and potent. As per usual, texture is nice and creamy MINT OREO: I loved how generous they were with the amount of cookie chunks for flavor as well as texture! Though you might expect the mint to come through like that of mint chocolate chip ice cream, this was very different. You could tell mint leaves were used for this component, as it is quite evident, giving the overall dessert a fresh feel, not too sweet either. PIÑA COLADA: Spot on with the flavors and truly tasted like natural flavoring. I always love that the sorbettos from Nani's Gelato is still creamy, not ice-y in texture. To be frank, this was a tad to sweet for my personal liking, but nonetheless, delicious.

Food: 3 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Value: 3 Stars Overall: 3.75 Stars

I had the pleasure of visiting Nani's Gelato, and my experience was quite enjoyable, though with a few areas that could be improved. Upon entering the shop, I was warmly greeted by the servers, who were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Their willingness to let me sample two flavours before making my choice was greatly appreciated, especially since this was my first time at Nani's. The staff didn't just stop at offering samples; they also provided thoughtful recommendations, which showed their knowledge and passion for the products they serve.

I decided to go with two flavours that caught my eye: the classic Pistachio gelato and the Belgium Cookie. The Pistachio was the first to be tasted, and while it was certainly enjoyable, it didn't quite have the rich, nutty depth that I typically associate with high-quality pistachio gelato. It was good, but perhaps a bit understated for my taste. The Belgium Cookie, on the other hand, was quite sweet—perhaps a little too sweet for my liking. The flavour itself was pleasant, but the sweetness was overpowering, making it difficult to savour the other elements of the gelato. However, I recognize that sweetness levels can be quite subjective, and others might find it perfectly balanced.

The portion sizes were decent, offering good value for the price. I didn’t leave feeling shortchanged, but rather satisfied with the amount given. It's clear that Nani's Gelato takes care in providing a fair serving, which is always a positive in my book.

What stood out the most during my visit was the overall atmosphere and the staff's dedication to ensuring a pleasant experience for their customers. The shop was clean and welcoming, and the staff's friendliness created a comfortable environment where I felt valued as a customer. The level of service I received definitely encourages me to return.

While the flavours I tried were not exactly what I was hoping for, I’m looking forward to coming back and exploring more of what Nani's Gelato has to offer. With a wide variety of flavours available, I’m optimistic that I’ll find a combination that perfectly suits my palate. It’s always refreshing to see a business that genuinely cares about customer satisfaction, and I’m confident that Nani’s will continue to refine their offerings to meet the diverse tastes of their clientele.

In summary, Nani's Gelato offers a pleasant experience with friendly service and decent portions. While the Pistachio and Belgium Cookie flavours didn't fully hit the mark for me, the overall experience was positive enough that I’m eager to return and try more flavours. I would recommend Nani's to anyone looking for a friendly spot to enjoy a sweet treat, with the understanding that flavour preferences are highly individual. I’m hopeful that my next visit will yield a five-star...

I've been going to this location 2/3 times a month for the last 3 months. I've purchased scoops, cones, soft serve and pints from them. Sometimes I'm blown away by the flavors and other times I'm disappointed. Overall they have delicious flavors to choose from that are only available for 2 weeks and then a new flavor is launched on Mondays. You have to check their social media for the most recent flavors.

Overall I love this place, they have gelato for everyone, be it gluten free, nut free or vegan. It's run by a local South Asian who's introducing unique gelato flavors to Toronto. Flavors that I grew up with such as pistachio kulfi or saffron.

I took 1 star off because of these reasons: I find that sometimes, within 3-4 days of flavors launching, they are sold out in scoops and pints of various items. There is no way to know this information until you show up to the store. As well, some flavors I've noticed for example mango, has had pulp used in the past. Not a fan of that. I don't mind the line up but it seems you never know if you'll get to sample 1 flavor or 2. There are times where there's nobody in the line up and I'm told they are only allowing 1 sample, other times I'm told it's 1 because of how busy they are. So it's really confusing. Lastly, I find that there's a disconnect between social media and what I'm told by the staff. I've inquired about certain things that I've seen on their Instagram page and have been met with confusion from the staff. So I'm not sure which source of information is most reliable. If they can address these inconsistencies, then this place is the perfect gelato shop in all...

I have tried a total of 12 flavours from Nani's Gelato (and I have four pints in my freezer right now!) The quality of the gelato is good and tastes super fresh, but the quality of the flavours is hit and miss. Some flavours are great; they truly add something to the gelato. Winning flavours include Belgium Cookie, Pumpkin Pie (softserve) and Black Sesame. However, other flavours are very, very mild and make me feel like I was hyped up for a relatively rare flavour for nothing. If I was allowed to sample them so I would not be paying $6 or even up to $11/12 for something I find meek in taste. (I know that the COVID-19 situation makes samples harder, but Death in Venice let me sample their gelato during COVID-19 on the condition that I went outside to try my samples. This was very helpful because I purchased only the gelato I would actually love!) Another issue I have is with putting 2 flavours in 1 pint. Unlike the full pints in the freezer, the 2 flavours get put in inefficiently. I got one this week and found a few pockets of air in between the flavours. Considering that you already pay an extra dollar to get two flavours, getting less product in addition is definitely not worth it. Overall, Nani's is a decent gelato spot. The fact that I am a curious person, that flavours are unique and rotate, and that the gelato base is good keeps me coming back. However, considering that half of the time I am disappointed with what I come home with, it makes the price hard to justify. Considering that the unique and rotating flavours are (to me) the key attraction of Nani's, I can only feel justified giving them three stars.
