Went in at 8:15pm sharp, was told that we would need to leave by 9pm as their closing at 9pm ( was totally fine with that, checked their operating hours and also already decided on what to order), at this point we had 45 min left ordered within 5 minutes, a salmon don plus a salmon + scallop don (which is basically sashimi placed on top of it) : 40 min left 20 min passed, nothing showed up. I went to check with one of the servers, she kept apologizing and I sat back to my table : 20 min left another 15 min passes, knowing that we prob wouldn’t have enough time to finish our dinner, I went to the cashier to check again and see what can we do. To my disappointment, our server was just busy with closing and I said “excuse me”, she just pretended to not seeing me or hearing anything. Just a glimpse and then turned her back to me and kept on with what she was busy with. Till her manager noticed this incident, and asked what do I need. I told her I need to take the bill and leave, her manager even wanted to charge the full amount. After repeating what happened to the manager and learnt probably the dons were never cooked in the first place, I paid for our drinks and left. During the whole time, our server was just standing there, not even trying to explain.

Outrageously disappointed as we were really hungry at that point and if the restaurant was too busy closing off to host us, it’s totally understandable and we can just leave. Instead we wasted nearly an hour there and been served with...

November 2021 4★ Came back for a dine in experience. Walk into this restaurant you'll find it cozy with only about 8 or 9 tables and maybe an occupancy of about 20 people. The food was good and traditional. The Omlet curry which was made of slow simmered beef stock was rich in flavor and had stands of beef. Add in additional toppings, pork katsu and chicken katsu and it was definitely a hit. The Chicken karage was made of breast meat. It could've been marinated for a bit longer as I felt this was a bit dry. The Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki was good. Sweetness from the kirin and salty from the soy based broth. The Grilled Mackerel was as expected but again a little dry. I've had better elsewhere, but wanted to try it here. The Takoyaki was also good and was expected, nothing bad. Also had an opportunity to try all the different korokke this time. The original, which is just potato was meh. I'd pass on this next time around. The shrimp version isn't bad, but couldn't really taste the essence of the shrimp. I think the corn version is still the best. Atmosphere is ok. A wall of back and white art work with a clock hung was interesting when it was on the hour and played some interesting chimes... It also rotated which was pretty unique.

February 2021 4.5★ Given what I had (cold foods), it's awesome. Can't wait to try others. Can't wait to have something hot and fresh. Can't wait to dine in. The corn korokke was good. The takoyaki was very good despite it being cold. Small quaint store front, but a decent size...

Went here with great anticipation for the salmon scallop and Okura dons (62 dollars total including tax and tip)

First of all, the presentation was great and the ikura was exceptional. However, I was disappointed to see how thin each salmon sashimi was! The dons were not as satiating unfortunately.

The rice was, frankly, quite bad. I think it was suppose to be sushi rice, but the flavor was quite bland and the rice was mushy and barely had any individual integrity to it. The texture did not complement the thin sashimi and was unpleasant to eat.

Secondly, it was such a shame to receive such a cheap, low-quality wasabi packet. I think wasabi is a very important component of this dish, so it was very disappointing to have to eat it with such bad wasabi.

The scallop was fresh, but also not as big or thick as it looked on the photo.

This could be due to the recent inflation due to the pandemic, but it really did not hit the expectations I had.

Update 2022 October: The quality got even worse. Much less ikura on my ikura salmon don (now 28 dollars). The rice was absolutely inedible. It was stiff, undercooked, and old. The wasabi is still...
