My sister and I were enticed by the mouthwatering aroma of the patties, so we decided to give them a try. As we approached the counter, we encountered a cashier who seemed in a hurry, despite there being no one waiting behind us. He swiftly typed the prices on the machines and handed them to us with such speed that it felt a bit overwhelming. Furthermore, he served another customer who arrived later before attending to us, making us feel neglected. It seemed as though his primary concern was rushing through the transactions and collecting our money, rather than providing a satisfactory customer experience.
Unfortunately, the customer service fell short of our expectations. The cashier mistakenly assumed that we were paying together, even though we had placed separate orders at different machines. This miscommunication added to the overall dissatisfaction with our visit.
After finally receiving our patties, we found them to be mediocre at best. As someone who grew up in Jamaica and has a discerning taste for authentic Jamaican cuisine, I must admit that the patties were average, only slightly better than those found at a typical convenience store. This was disappointing, as we had hoped for a more authentic and flavorful experience.
In summary, our visit to the establishment left us unimpressed with both the customer service and the quality of the patties. It felt as though the cashier's main focus was rushing us through the process, rather than ensuring our satisfaction as customers. As a Jamaican with high expectations for Jamaican food, I was left wanting more from...

Um. Nice try, but...
I had high hopes for this Beef Patty and Coco Bread establishment, but those hopes have fallen down the gutter.
Considering I grew up in the beef patty and Coco Bread World, I'm sort of an expert on the matter.
The patty/pastry itself was not flakey at all! It had the consistency of cardboard instead.
How can you produce a beef patty that isn't flakey?
The meat was more of a watered-down mushy runny stew with no taste. Kind of like baby food.
The Coco bread was very thin and doughy. I could still smell the flour.
That's definitely NOT coco bread it was more like a hamburger bun. And a bad one at that.
Also, why is the filling so hot? Are you trying to give people 3rd degree burns? There is no reason why the filling has to be so hot.
Eaton Centre Location:
There's also a very strange angry vibe about this place. Not the kind of energy that's very inviting.
Oh well.

Read moreAs a bit of an aficionado of Jamaican patties who grew up on Islington station patties and have had Randy's, Patty Time, Juici Patties, Baker's Dozen in Brixton etc, I was pleasantly surprised by Patties Express. The beef filling was nice and flavorful and spicy. I am SE Asian and found the "spicy" to actually be as described. So extra spicy might be a bit much. The pastry was nice and light. I wish there was more flakiness and a buttery taste, but overall it is still a very good patty. I actually might even prefer it to Randy's which is saying a lot. I think I prefer that Patties Express is spicier and I also prefer the Patties express pastry to Randy's. I do prefer these "runny" style patties as I find the filling to be the most flavorful. I think it is even better than Juici Patties from Jamaica. Living in NYC, Juici is the only decent patties we have though so take that into account for my bias for...
