We came here for dinner at 5:30 pm on a Monday. There were a few tables seated for dinner at the beginning of our reservation, and more tables were filled as the night went on. Walk ins are welcome here. I arrived 15 minutes early for the reservation. The waitress checked me in and brought me to the table immediately. She came to check if I wanted a drink while waiting. I ordered a Modello ($9) to pass the time. When the full table was seated, both the waitress and bar tender came to check in on us. The staff were very attentive here! We ordered Salsa and Chips for the table and another Modello. Both came promptly. You could tell the Salsa was made fresh today with enough time for the flavours to marinate. It had a nice consistency; thin enough to pass a chip through but thick enough that you could pile it onto the chip. There was a strong garlic flavour with a hint of smoke. The chips were freshly fried, with the right amount of salt. I highly recommend this to start. My friends ordered 2x shrimp and 2x baja fish tacos. Both said they were tasty and would recommend these items. I ordered the shrimp burrito. The portion size was excellent, like getting a large burrito from one of the chains (Burrito Boyz/Fat Bastard). It was a wet burrito with guacamole, salsas, and queso all around. I liked the shrimp to filling ratio. The shrimp was perfectly cooked...nice and juicy. I took half the burrito home to have another time. This burrito is 2x the price of the same sized burrito at one of the chain restaurants. I can't say it's worth it even though it tasted great and was well executed. The space kept a similar look to the old bar, East Thirty Six, with added elements of Mexicana. There was an odd musty smell throughout the restaurant. Overall, this place is worth a try and a good addition to the area.

We stopped in for dinner at this place on a Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. It was the first time some of my friends had been there. There was a patio available outside, but it wasn’t too busy, so we decided to sit inside. It was moderately busy, but a bit loud. I wouldn’t recommend it for a quiet evening out. Our server was nice, but the service was extremely slow. It seemed like they needed additional serving staff. They had several hostesses, but it always seemed like there were more servers than hostesses. There were always two or three people at the door waiting to greet people. One thing we didn’t like was that they didn’t have the option to mix and match tacos. You had to purchase two or three of the same tacos, which didn’t leave you with many options. So, we opted to order three each and share so we could sample different tacos. With one drink each, our bill with tax and tip came in at about $50 each. It would be nice if they had the option to mix and match tacos and also if they had a happy hour menu.

Hi! I loved this place and it was very very good at the beginning! Then I started telling my friends to go because it was good the first time, just 2 weeks later I came and the lady just saw us and was soo critical but then we decide to ignore it. Next time (I’ve been here 3 times) I went with some friends and we were going everyone on their own we just wanted to it in the same place so we can all leave together to the place that we wanted to go, but then the lady noticed that we were more than 6 and started saying that everything was one bill and the 18% uknow but we told her the truth that we were separeted we were even on different tables but because we knew each other it was the same. I do understand but also they were so judgmental idk if it’s because we speak Spanish or what. But I’ll go again because of the food and nothing more and am thinking of going again they are soooo bad, the food it’s the only thing keeping them alive actually. 🫶 I will always say the truth in this things!

Drove in from Cleveland, Ohio to stay the night downtown Toronto. Decided for Mexican for dinner and out the hotel we went to Playa Cabana, and player please, let me tell ya..... not ever again. Ordered 2 Dave's margaritas and some salsa and chips. Chips and salsa came out which we enjoyed. Our drinks never came. Upon waiting we ordered our meals and they came out but still no margarita. Tap water exceptional. Almost finished our meal and said hey how about those margaritas. Server said oh, yes. After we finished eating our margaritas came out. As happy as we were to see our margaritas arrive after our meals we said thank you. Started enjoying our margaritas and our server brought a piece of cake to our table and said on the house. Nice gesture because our drinks came at the end. I can not stress enough DO NOT EAT THE FREE CAKE. My girlfriend and I tried the cake...figuring cant be that bad, smh.... no. Even it being free. Just no. We get our bill.... 55.00 ish my girl says hey they took the drinks off. We paid the bill and tipped..... server comes back.... I charged u someone else's bill, this one is urs. $105 for 2 margaritas, 1 burrito and 1 order of tacos plus those chips and salsa. My girl went in to explain we should have had the drinks comped. The server did. So 55.00 plus 11.00 for the rest of our bill to get the hell out of there and get some chicken strips and fries down the street...best...

This review is for a recent visit to their patio during happy hour.

I know people who have gone during regular hours and really enjoyed it here. This was not my experience this past Friday.

The two servers we encountered seemed very unhappy to be there. Any question we asked seemed to be an inconvenience. When we asked to see the menu again when the server brought it he wouldn’t even hand it to us and put it down on the table next to us. Why?

We ordered the happy hour margaritas for $10 each and the tacos. It was weird we had to get 4 but they were 4 for 20

The drinks were served in smaller glasses and ther server told us this was the happy hour drinks. They tasted that way and seemed to be pre made but I could be wrong.

It was the tacos that were most disappointing. 40 minutes after ordering we had to ask if they were coming. The server came back and said there was a kitchen issue. The issue was they hadn’t been ordered. I wish we hadn’t gotten them. The pork was bland. Even worse was the beef tacos. They were beyond salty. I’m my opinion they were using the meat from yesterday and because they sat in their juices the broth became over concentrated and almost inedible.

We were doing a taco happy hour tour of the three taco spots in the old town area and sadly the place we expected to be the best came last both in price, flavour and service....
