just one word - AVOID!!!! Truly the worst dining experience of my life. We ordered Thai food which didn’t look or taste anything like Thai food. The manager still insisted that we still pay for it and accused us that we were complaining coz we didn’t want to pay!!! This place is unethical, immoral, poorly managed and just terrible terrible food! Waste of time, waste of money, waste of mental peace. An evening gloriously ruined!!!! Not going here ever and recommend that everyone stays away!!! Peace
EDIT: The restaurant claims in their response that we made these excuses coz we didn’t want to pay. Look at their sheer STUPIDITY and ILL INTENTIONS. We left without eating the food. If this were the case, we would at least have the food and then create the scene. Doesn’t make any sense.
They used the police just as a threat, thinking this will get us to pay. This clearly didn’t work, in fact they wasted precious time of the cops for such a petty issue. In fact, the whole time they deliberately made us wait thinking we’ll get tired ad leave, put such BASELESS accusations and even made RACIST remarks. The whole time they didn’t even apologise even once for their pathetic food and service.
Thanks for the response Zen Hagga, you proved my point that this place is run by morally bankrupt people who do not care about...
Read moreWas happy to finally find a good Hakka-Chinese restaurant in DT. However hugely disappointed with the Uber eats pricing, will not be ordering again.
Pros: tasty, fresh, good portions, decent value for money.
Cons: BEWARE when ordering on Uber eats. promotion offered on Uber is classic case of false advertising. On a ‘buy one get one’ why is the charge almost double? In which case the second item isn’t free right ? Restaurants are known to inflate prices on Uber to factor in their share but this is straight up fraud.
Edit: response to owner. I am happy to pay more for good products/service but my issue is transparency. I was given to understand that Uber pricing is decided by the restaurant and hence I reviewed accordingly. I don’t know where you got the 19.992=39.99 pricing from but the current menu on Uber reflects price for Hakka noodles/rice on BOGO as 26.992=53.98 which then gets reduced to 26.99 after the offer. Isn’t that way inflated compared to in-house menu prices? Re: ordering directly from restaurants - Trust me we are not thrilled about spending all the extra Uber service fees+tips and would rather prefer ordering directly. but when we are unable to go in person, we are forced to be dépendant on Uber eats for delivery unless the restaurant is offering another...
Read moreWe just stumbled across this place while looking for a place to eat on queen street. Ikkousha had a long wait, so we were looking for the next best option. This turned out to be a gem in the middle of all the ramen places. We love Hakka food and been looking for one in downtown for the longest time. And this is one of the best we've eaten in north America! The flavors really hit the spot. We are already planning what to get next time we visit. The food is on the greasier side, I must warn but it reminded us of the indo-chinese food in India. Pretty large portions, so we took our leftovers back. Considering the large portions, I'd say it's reasonably priced.
The staff is super nice. Anthony and another waiter (forgot his name) were great and friendly. Our food was brought out quickly and it was hot temperature wise! Ambiance is pretty decent - it's not your hole in the wall place but it's not fancy either. So it's great for a causal meal. Can't wait to come back and try chili chicken and schezwan fried...
