Customer service here is great, good product selections and standard prices. I always try and support local snowboard shops.
The only thing I won't be coming back to So Hip for is getting my board waxed. Last season I brought my board here and they did an "alright" wax job on it. It was a bit patchy. I decided to give them another shot a few weeks ago and it first glance it seemed liked it was done properly (I picked the board up same day, so the wax hadn't cured totally). A couple of weeks later I was pulling my board out to pack it for an upcoming trip and it looked like no wax was applied to it. The black base was instead white and looked like it had been ridden for a few years without any wax on it. I ended up just dropping it off at a local shop in Ajax near my work and they were able to get it waxxed properly in time for my flight.
So great customer service for product shopping...but two different times having issues with wax jobs at almost $40 each shows me that unfortunately I gotta take my board elsewhere for that particular service. I'm sure most people have good experiences with the waxxing there (you probably will too), but I'll just use the spot near my work...
Read moreSo Hip is easily the best skate shop around — the kind of place that actually feels like a part of the local scene, not just a store. The vibe’s always chill, the music’s good, and the people make it even better.
Big shoutout to Kalen, who works there — dude knows everything about decks, trucks, and wheels, and always hooks it up with solid advice. Sean and Micheala are awesome too — super friendly, always down to chat, and make everyone feel welcome whether you’re a total beginner or been skating for years.
They’ve got a great selection of boards, clothes, and accessories, plus you can tell they actually care about the skate community. If you haven’t checked out So Hip yet, you’re missing out.
Thanks again to the crew — Kalen, Sean, and Micheala keep that place...
Read more... I have been going to So Hip since it hurt. Over 20 years. They're just awesome. Bought a new 2025 (Bryan Iguchi Pro Candle 161) Arbor snowboard from their booth at Toronto Ski & Snowboard Show. They said bring it into shop and we'll wax it and swap the bindings for you comp. So I did. And they did. They also waxed my old Arbor they knew I'm mounting as wall art (didn't ask for this - they just did it to make it look nicer for me), and offered to Uber me both boards back .... for free / purchase price of my new Arbor (which wasn't cheap but you get what you pay for). This place is and always has been fkn great and if you read a bad review ignore it as being from someone who shouldn't have the privilege of walking up the stairs...
