This little spot has got a super cute interior, with an instagramable flower wall and a few other neon signs. However, upon entry the restaurant had a bit of an odd smell. So we opted to sit on the patio as it was a beautiful day. In terms of service, although they were super nice, they really took while to come back to do table maintenance throughout our time there.

We started with Chips and Guacamole, alongside the complementary chips and green sauce they give you. I loved the green sauce/salsa, it’s so savoury and delicious, and also paired really well with everything we ate. The guacamole wasn’t super tasty though, I think it needed a bit a salt. I wanted to order a non-alcoholic beverage but they were out of lemonade, and they only had two options for Jarritos, which was a bit disappointing. For entrees we ordered the Del Trompo A Tu Trompa (pastor (pork) meat with roasted onion and pineapple) and the Chamorro (slow cooked pork shank and beans). Both dishes came with flour tortillas on the side and a few other fixings. First of all, the Del Trompo was beautifully plated, such an attractive dish. Not only was it good looking but is was delicious! One of the sauces on the side has got a nice kick to it as well! But I was a little bummed out they didn’t plate mine with the roasted onion. The Chamorro was great too! It was super tender and very well seasoned. I didn’t order any tacos, but my friends at the table did and although very cheap, the tacos didn’t seem to pack a flavourful punch like the other dishes mentioned.

Overall, I probably wouldn’t suggest you go here strictly for the tacos but if you are willing to explore the rest of the menu and are in the mood for cocktails and beer, this is totally...

A must visit Mexican spot in Vancouver.

I came here on Family Day and though it was very busy, the staff made me feel spoiled and taken care of.

First, they welcome me with their chips and red sauce but I also asked them for their mango habanero sauce which is so good I recommend you to try if you like very spicy hot sauces.

Second, I ordered the traditional Mexican Pozole and the it was so flavourful that reminds me the actual Pozole you get as if you were in Mexico. Fun fact: Pozole is usually served on special occasions or weekends only. But coincidentally, they had it in the kitchen so I have to have it and they made it happen. It worth the wait.

The restaurant was full and while I waited for my meal, I had a Carajillo, which is Espresso coffee with ice and liquor 43.

Lastly, it was time for dessert and the cherry on top was the "tres leches" cake and "Napolitano" flan. The first was milky and spoungy while the second was so creamy. Both of them so yummy.

Shout out to the kitchen staff and the servers, Alejandra and Yarem, for their promptness and kindness and to the Manager, Mayra, for looking after every detail of the operation. There is no doubt that the staff's performance and quality of service mirrors the leader they have. Great job guys!

Well deserved five star review and I highly recommend everyone to come visit Tequila Cocina. The portions are quite generous in size and the drinks are well prepared here.

This place is normally busy but as customers we have to be mindful that the staff do their best to provide you with their best customer service in a timely manner in such fast paced environment.

Again, thank you guys and see you in the...

I have been here multiple times now and have now had two big disappointments, and it has been the same thing both times finding raw onions in my food. I specifically asked for NO RAW ONIONS AT ALL! What I found was they forgot and added them, then remembered and picked them out and left some, and this was pretty evident due to the sloppy presentation. Today had dine in tacos as per their daily Tuesday special. I had the carnitas, chorizo, and had I asked house made habanero hot sauce, which they did not give me, which l have come to regularly as my accompaniment to the tacos, instead they gave me some pre-made vingery crap sauce that in my mind ruined the taste of tacoscombined with hints of gross raw onions!!! I didn't get any compensation for the screw up, this is the 2nd time now that this exact same thing has happened... I would go at least 1 a month here since the discovery of their amazing carnitas. However, since this mistake has now happened, not once but twice now, I will not go back. I am sorry, but your cooks have failed at their job and have fed my onions twice! What if my aversion to raw onion was an actual allergy?? Great job!! Again, I am sorry, but I will not return and will find another place that will genuinely honor my food aversion properly! All you had to do was make new ones and not serve me sub-par quality food! I hate to say...
