We were group of 15 going here for couple of birthdays. First I asked a tequila drink with mix of server choice since it was our first time there. I noticed all cocktail drinks for our table were served on a plain tall glass which were very underwhelming. For a new place which also wants to be trendy and hype you expect more than that. We had the tasting menu which I think is 90$ or more for the group. Salad was delicious, fresh bread with hummus and tzatziki were good as well but for a Greek oriented restaurant, you expect more tzatziki (very small bowl about 2 table spoon at most, the same size you might get hot sauce in otherrestaurants) than hummus (big bowl here). Than it went down hill from there, first was calamari, it was extremely salty. We had 4 plates of them and everyone said the same thing. We told one of the server and took them and later brought new plates. These ones were with absolutely not a grain of salt, honestly a bit dumbfounded. We didn't say we don't want salt, most likely for the first plates some mistake happened to have that mush salt. Anyway it wasn't a big deal and you could have them with sauce. Pasta was next which was way on the side of dente for any al dente that we have had anywhere. Then came big splash of foods such as shrimp, chicken souvlaki, rice and mix of mushroom with I think onion. Shrimp was very fresh and good, chicken was cooked nicely on outside but 2 pieces on out plate (out of 3 pieces I took) tasted a bit undercooked. I didn't ask anyone else on our table because I didn't want to bring the vibe down, hopefully theirs were good. But here is my beef with most of the food, they were on the sweet side. I love Greet food, and it's one of my all time favorite and beside baklava for dessert can't remember so much sweet food for Greek restaurant. For entertainment, playing live saxophone and guitar is nice but 3-4 time playing the same song during one dinning becomes a bit too much. The whole night DJ was playing but the issue was that so many times in the middle of one song they switch to another or play 10-15 second of one, then jump to another song which reminded me of myself when I try to be a DJ. All together I was really disappointed mostly because I see that they have invested a lot to open this place and I really hope these are my bad luck to hit all the negative points in one sitting. At the end we danced and they took plenty of pictures for restaurant Instagram I suppose. I usually give a second chance to establishments but not sure here, hopefully I will. Staff were very friendly and nice, they were really trying to make it good for people. The place was very clean, decoration is beautiful, mix of modern and reminding of...

We visited Andonis Vancouver on a Tuesday evening for a special occasion — a birthday celebration with a group of guests, having reserved their four-course set menu dinner for 7 PM. What followed was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had, especially considering the high price point and the supposedly upscale atmosphere.
Right from the start, things went downhill. Despite being told we had a strict two-hour dining window, we waited nearly an hour just to receive drinks and a simple serving of pita bread and hummus — and this was with the restaurant mostly empty aside from a few smaller parties. Staff were often on their phones or standing around in groups, showing little interest in actually serving guests.
Perhaps the most frustrating moment of the night came around 7:30 PM, when instead of attending to hungry, waiting customers, the staff suddenly started dancing around the restaurant waving a flag. No drinks, no food had been served yet, but we were encouraged to get up and join them in a circle dance. It felt tone-deaf and performative rather than hospitable — especially since we were still waiting on basic service.
At 8:30 PM, we finally received the Greek salad — the only decent dish of the evening. Around 8:50 PM, a small pasta course arrived that tasted like canned SpaghettiOs — bland, mushy, and completely forgettable. The main course of prawns and chicken didn’t come out until after 9:15 PM, and while a few guests found the chicken edible, others were served burnt portions. At this point, several people in our group were visibly agitated and still very hungry.
Repeated requests for the birthday cake were ignored for over an hour. Then at 10:35 PM, staff brought out another table’s cake — we began singing before realizing it wasn’t even for our guest. The actual cake didn’t arrive until 10:46 PM, by which point most of the birthday party had already left. One of the four courses we paid for was never served at all.
As a last-ditch effort, staff offered a bottle of champagne and a few watered-down shots — at nearly 11 PM, well after the evening had been ruined.
Our bill was over $2,000, and what we received in return was poor food, disorganized service, and an atmosphere that felt more focused on gimmicks than hospitality. This may be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Vancouver, especially for a high-stakes celebration. If you’re considering Andonis for a special event — don’t. There are far better options that actually care about...
Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into Adonis, it immediately felt like we arrived in a whole new world. It felt like I had walked into a beautiful Greek island restaurant, with the atmosphere so immersive that you couldn’t help but get lost in it. The energy in the air was contagious. The people, the staff, the vibe, and the authenticity of the place is what made it feel so special.
Customer service is a big one for me and the staff really know how to make you feel welcomed. Our server, Dimitrios, was exceptional. He had a warm smile throughout the whole night and genuine hospitality making it feel as if we were long-lost friends. He was incredibly attentive, offering insightful recommendations and making sure our experience was flawless from beginning to end. You could tell he loved what he did, and that added so much to the overall experience.
The ambiance is a true highlight. It's an enchanting fusion of fine dining and vibrant nightlife energy, making it the perfect setting for any occasion. They had a DJ, however the live music added to the charm, with all the guests vibing together, creating a moment that truly felt magical.
I’m a bit of a food snob, but Adonis truly knocked it out of the park for my wife and I. The flavours were outstanding, and for a restaurant of this category in Vancouver, I was impressed by the generous portion sizes. I tried the chicken souvlaki, and it was absolutely delicious. The calamari was tender and crispy, and the Greek salad was very fresh. The Desfina potatoes were a perfect side to complement everything. My wife went for the Calamarata, and she absolutely loved it. The pasta was rich in flavour and well-cooked. I love my Tzatziki sauce and Adonis definitely delivered one of the best I’ve ever had. It was rich, tangy, and just the right amount of creamy. As for drinks, the unique selection of cocktails they offer is impressive. I tried The Mo’s Way, and it was fantastic. Drinks on other guests tables also looked very appealing.
Overall, I can’t recommend Adonis enough. Again, It’s the perfect blend of fine dining and youthful energy that creates a utopian vibe you won’t forget. I’ll definitely be coming back again!...
